For real though writing Apple as a lesbian would've been so interesting for her character, the fact she dated a boy because she had to for her destiny but never truly loved him ( a lot of gay people dated the opposite gender to fit in), if Ever After High wasn't cancelled it could've been interesting to see her finding out Darling was the one who saved her, realising she also has feelings for her but being torn between marrying a prince to follow her destiny or accept that she's into girls and it's no big deal if her happily ever after is different from what she imagined.

@@ConstellationEternalLucidDream That's a theory I've heard. It seems pretty clear that Daring is the "Prince Charming" of Beauty and the Beast, as we see in Epic Winter. He turns into a beast, finds purpose outside of his beauty, and learns to see past appearances. He also ends up falling for Rosabella, which (up to that point) didn't go against either of their stories. (Unsure if this is an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed seeing Daring and Rosabella as a pair! The writers built up to Daring's character arc and we got to see more of Rosabella.)

I know that most people think that the kiss from Dragon Games was the first time there was anything gay between the characters Apple White and Darling Charming, and it defiantly was canonical confirmation and great representation, but it wasn’t the first. The kiss aired January 29, 2016, but two years earlier on March 25, 2014 the book Ever After High The Unfairest of Them All hit the shelves and in chapter 20 Darling asks everyone to look away, but Apple sneaks a glance anyway and falls under Darling's spell. Many boys in that room have crushes on Darling and yet not a single one of them looked at Darling, everyone but Apple turned away. Apple could not help but stare at Darlings beauty and accidentally fell under her spell. And after seeing the hair flip and “Darling lowered her eyelids halfway and smiled coyly” all Apple could manage to say was “Enchanting” So in summery you can’t convince me otherwise that Apple had a very intense gay moment for Darling right here.

The story is definitely similar to EAH but it totally tells it in its own creative and engaging way. In my opinion, rather than trash Descendants, trash Disney. Bro if they REEAALLY leaned in to Apple bring a villain and had a longer arc of her losing the people around her because they realise their destinies aren’t really what they want (e.g. Briar and Ashlyn), leading to her kind of having an existential crisis because she loves her friends and doesn’t want to lose them but also CAN’T lose her destiny because it’s what she’s been pressured into and dreaming of her whole life so she starts trying to manipulate people into being royals again but Raven becomes a symbol for the freedom of being a rebel thus causing Apple to become the villain in her own story, that would’ve been so sick dude

We need this series back 😭 I love descendants but I hate the movie is the reason EAH was canceled. This was everything. The outfits, relationships, the environments, the stories. I have a personal head-canon that darling is a trans man (a biological female transitioning to male): 1) her colors match the trans flag 2) her being a REBEL and her being TRANS would make sense. 3) she’s heroic (not saying women can’t be heroes…they absolutely fucking can! But in the stories it was mostly the men who were the heroes. so it would make sense why she’d transition into a male). 4) Notice how she hid her identity as the white knight until, Way Too Wonderland, could that be similar to "coming out"? she may be feminine presenting, because her transition is incomplete. (I could be wrong, though just a headcanon).

I just finished the series!! Season 1 was definitely my favorite season, I didn’t care for the 3d animation they started implementing in season 2, but it got better by Epic Winter! Season 1 made me genuinely laugh a lot, and had other side stories besides the main plot which I enjoyed. I feel like they lost that charm somewhere!! I also wish they made a doll of Celise’s dress in the last episode of season 4, it is sooo cute😭

My favourite season is definetly dragon games. I think the reason they did that was because they got an increase in budget and wanted to improve the animation!
