I've just stumbled across your channel and WOW you make the most perfect clothes! I'm looking to get into sewing as a complete beginner but I'm finding it overwhelming trying to choose a sewing machine lol. What sewing machine do u use/recommend? Also would you suggest maybe going a little cheaper on the sewing machine and investing in an overlocker? I see myself wanting to work with more stretch fabrics.

Thank you so much !! I have a heavy duty singer and I absolutely love my machine. I think if you’re just starting (even if you like the idea of sewing stretch) I’d start with a good regular machine. Overlockers can be a little complicated to figure out and for me I’d rather get a good handle on the regular machine and then move onto those ones. I like that mines heavy duty because it allows me to sew through layers consistently without any issues (Jean, thicker fabrics etc). Investing in a good iron can help any project with whatever machine you buy too !! Hope that helps and have fun 💖💖

Hi! I loved your video! Could you tell me which measurments you used for the bust part? I recently started sewing, and im a little bit lost

Yes ! I used the mannequin to drape so I didn't use any actual measurements. I would say if you don't have a mannequin to put on a tight fitting shirt and pin the fabric on yourself and then mark out with a pen the lines. It's tricky and will take a bit of time but it's a good way to see how the fabric lies and a good exercise for beginners ! hope that helps xx

Do I need to add the underbust elastic if I use stretchy fabric?

No, if you’re using stretchy fabric you don’t need to add elastic unless you want to give it an extra tight fit

A mannequin makes it easier to drape the bust piece but you can always pin it on yourself. if you wear a tight tshirt and are careful with the pins you can pin the fabric to your shirt and make markings on the fabric. I hope that helps !
