So Hyang is a 44 years old, devout Christian and gospel singer from South Korea. In her early 20s and newly married, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer, which left her unable to have children. After being healed by God, So Hyang's goal has been to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times. She is not motivated by either money or fame, and has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. Sohyang came down with covid19 Thursday and this can be a serious health issue for someone who is immune compromised like her. Please add Sohyang to your prayers so she can be healed by God. She got hepatitis B when she had cancer surgery when she was 20 and this is why she gets pneumonia so often. Thus covid19 can be a mortal danger to her because really serious pneumonia and heart problems can develop from it. I thought everyone would want to know that. 😯💘😲

We all wonder if Sohyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such _POWER_ it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself, with the input of her in-law family and musical assistants, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks five languages: Korean, English, French, Vietnamese and Chinese, as well as reading Greek! Let me catch my breath. OK. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all eagerly worked with her when they were in Asia. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day. 👉 Kim Sohyang (called Sohyang) * 1978 in Gwangju, South Korea. She is self-taught and a real all-rounder. Sohyang comes from poor divorced parents. As a teenager, she converted to Christianity and planned to become a cartoonist and artist. Instead, she joined a band and married drummer Kim Hee-jun. She started singing late and has no formal vocal training, but since has had some lessons from Seth Riggs (American voice coach). Shortly after the wedding she had to have an operation and was told she could not have children. She was then 21 years old. She decided to devote her life to singing for God and the comfort and joy of people. She is also a fantasy novelist, gives singing lessons at the Music House Academy in her home town and is a guest speaker at a university. She made her singing debut in 1996. She only became known in 2012 through her participation in the second season of the Korean singing competition I am A Singer. Sohyang became the first Korean female artist to sing the American national anthem at an NBA game. After the huge success in 2017 in the "King of Mask Singer" (Korea), Sohyang’s appearances became less and less. She was struggling with severe pneumonia, which came back eight times and almost took her voice away. Sohyang, hailed as "Korean Mariah Carey" for her outstanding vocal skills, shared how obsessed she was. She didn't want to damage her reputation, didn't allow herself to make any mistakes. So when she was stripped of sheen, all she could do was repent and reflect on her Christianity. She realized that the most important thing as a singer was to comfort people about not being perfect.
