Can we appreciate Omaeda's strength here? Usually when we see Soifon's Bankai, the recoil is so powerful she needs to tie herself to a building or get absolutely launched by it. Omaeda just tanked that recoil without missing a single beat

I kinda like that they removed how cowardly Omaeda was during this section of the manga and instead make it a moment to show how hes grown. I feel it really works and shows how much some of the lesser side characters have changed since Aizens defeat.

Omaeda has always been portrayed as a bit of coward, that definitely is true… but he’s also always been portrayed as a loyal member of Squad 2 and his Captain. His family have been loyal retainers of Squad 2 for generations and at the end of the day Duty is always more Important.

same, i hate that Toshiro got special treatment. They/Kubo could’ve added a little something different to Soi Fon’s bankai as well. Sajin & Byakuya i understand why maybe there’s didn’t have any changes bc they only hollowified the bankai’s for a little while just to rid them from the Sternritters but Soi Fon & Toshiro could’ve been the ones to get newly designed bankais instead of just Toshiro. He be getting MC treatment sometimes it’s crazy
