Wow this is a surprise, never expected an episode on Soichi Terada. His music for Ape Escape 1 blew me away as a kid and still does to this day.

The drums used in Ape Escape PS1 for levels like Frosty Retreat we're the most powerful drums I've ever witnessed in a video game. Ridiculously talented.

Toco toco you are doing such a great job introducing us all these Japanese artists in your high quality videos that i think (and hope) the Japanese Ministry of Cultural Affairs should really help to finance your work. You really deserve that.

@@ArchipelDocumentaries A very late, very big thanks for this interview and the hard work you do. Soichi Terada is one of my favourites, both as a person and an artist. I see you still make videos so I hope this means that the Ministry ended up reading Blade of Mird's comment!

Definitely one of my all time favorite (Japanese) artists, who i didn't even know composed music to one of my favorite youth games (Ape escape). While i usually like dark dystopian music, there is something to his sound that simply radiates genuine happiness and innocence to me, which never fails to put a smile on my face and give me that warm fuzzy feeling when you know "all is well". Thanks a lot for sharing. He seems like a beautiful soul.

I think the vast majority of Japanese people are extremelly humble and for me it's one of the many reasons why i love them so much. Unlike the majority of Westerners who like to boast with every chance they get...

What a lively person. Glad to have learned about such a different life than mine. Your videos and editing really make me feel like I'm there and listening to him talk in person, not to mention being a part of his interesting life for a few minutes--fantastic work as always!
