The Valley Line LRT landscaping project has been a huge undertaking in Edmonton. It boasts 2,000 trees, more than 7,000 shrubs and 120,000 grasses and perennials, all supported by a trenched infrastructure to help trees grow faster and healthier.

Curious on how these "soil cells" work to help tree growth, so I looked up it in Google. Basically, these plastic cells give enough structural support for road/pavement above, so the soils inside the cells don't need to be compacted. This allows trees to have more air, water, and room for their roots.

We're the creators of this project's soil cells (Stratavault). As highlighted, the Stratavault matrix serves a dual purpose: it offers essential structural support for the infrastructure above, such as roads or pavements, and provides a designated area for high-quality, uncompacted soil intended for tree planting. Additionally, this matrix effectively contains the tree roots, preventing any potential damage to the surrounding infrastructure, preventing road or pavement heaving.
