Because it doesn't freeze there. A majority of the US is susceptible to below freezing temps. We also use a closed dwv system, instead of an open system like they do. I think the north American way is far superior. Doesn't turn into a septic system with months worth of a blockage.

Would be cool if they made a rubber adapter that would cap the pipe, but still allow the jet hose through.. so when the rush of sewage come it’ll just go down the drain and not out.. or maybe something could be made to work using a regular cap

There's a channel of Korean plumbers on YT who do exactly that. It's something they came up with to avoid spraying things around and it looks very efficient. Nevertheless, The Drain Unblockers always leave places cleaner than they found them. They really are the bees' knees.

Good vid, I would have liked to see the cleanup operation after that one. Bit annoyed at the homeowner though for not moving their car so you could park closer, unless there's a reason they couldn't move it. Little things like that go a long way I think.

I remember this job very well: perhaps the small icons at the title of this vid might have been two-fold..... first a small pile of poo, linked alongside a small icon of an aircraft. Put to the two together and one has 'flying poo' very apt I thought.... well done to the guys, this difficult job was brilliantly managed.

3 things immediately wrong with that pipework. Gradient of the pipe going from the en-suite into the stack is too steep, looks to be a 200mm fall over 3 metres which is causing the liquids to drain away quicker than the solids therefore causing a build up of shit and paper at the bottom of that en-suite toilet pipe junction. Around 20mm slope per metre run is required, so around 60-70mm fall would have done. Also the 90 degree waste bend from the en-suite toilet really needs a second bend under it with a more rounded radius sweeping into the horizontal pipe. 45 degree connections are preferred but if not possible, at least a large smooth curved 90 degree bend would have given that en-suite toilet waste a fighting chance to drain. Thirdly there are 4 waste pipe connections going into that toilet waste which is a bit extreme, as theres always going to be 4 chances of the en-suite toilet waste on its travels to the stack catching on one of the waste pipes that may have been pushed in too much causing snags and blockages.

Hi, can you help me, we have an internal completely horizontal soil stack that runs nearly 6m from the toilet before it falls down the vertical stack (also internal) there is no fall on the soil pipe and in-fact the 90 bend is on an incline, how can I unblock it when the access cap cannot be removed into the loft space? Because the client had two toilets and this was the branch that connected to the main soil run. Rather than have two soil pipes, you have it going along the wall and meeting with the main soil pipe!

I'm not familiar with building norms in the UK. Do most houses have the plumbing on the outside of the house versus under a slab? I can see it having to be run this way on very old buildings that were built prior to indoor plumbing but many/most of the jobs I have watched on your channel look like they are new enough to have indoor lines.
