I grew strawberries for the first time last year, I dismantled it and put mulch on the top of the soil, and we get rain at least once a week, it survived and sent out shoots in spring

It was so warm early Nov & October for me too, Zone 6B/7A NY. I really did want to do any cleaning up- flowers were still blooming!

I know what you mean! The dahlias were still blooming when I cut them, I just didn't want to do all that digging in cold temps

Good idea how to protect the strawberries in the greenstalk. I'm in MA zone 6a and lost all of my strawberries in a greenstalk because I didn't do so.

I hear mixed reviews about this, I think it highly depends on location, watering and how cold you get in the winter.
