Okay , i just listened to it twice, and once more with my now eleven years old kid Soilwork fan (he'll be at the Paris Zenith too, he'll miss being on my shoulders in front of the stage but hey , large venues..) . this song is very very important , it's a new era of Soilwork . it's not just another song. It's the first song of the new Soilwork without late David. The last album was so huge, the task to carry on without David is something we might be concerned about. but if you look at the Overgivenheten credits, most of the songs are from David and Bjorn, a joint effort. Previously we had , in a rythmic distinctive way, Peter wichers. So in a way , glued by Bjorn , Soilwork is an entity of itself that can survive to individuals and perhaps fuel the creativity of the individuals. That's what we hear now, the credits include all band members except Sylvain (i hope he will have a part in the writing too , but i suppose this song is the result of a rehaersal/ studio gathering thing in sweden). That's a statement like we're all here for a new chapter, and you can hear it : the colour of the composition is so different than what it would have been with David's inputs. And that's fine, it's even a good sign of a their creativity being alive. the song has everything that makes soilwork great and unique : riffs , harmonies by everyone , awesome pre choruses riff , crazy bridge , great singing including a lot of different ways of singing , also rythm patterns i didn't hear before in soilwork i think. And should i talk about about the Thomas Johansson production ??? so percussive and yet clear enough to get the harmonies etc , but i'm listening to my JBL monitors so they might not be that neutral. the difference between spotify and here of course might make you listen to it over there. well thank you guys !! see you on that Zenith stage. we hope to hear that song!

It totally sounds like two distinctive bands now rather than the hybrid one they were both becoming. I mean this as no offense to David whatsoever, his music in both bands was beyond amazing. Natural Born Chaos and Figure Number Five are two of the best Metal albums ever made. In Flames Colony and several albums after were also some of the best. I haven't listened to either of them for years but I think I will start again. This was exceptional. His voice hasn't changed and that chorus!

Honestly I wasnt sure what to expect as David was the primary songwriter of the last 2 albums, not to mention the NFO stuff. But this is good. A somewhat new sound while maintaining the core of modern Soilwork. I cant complain despite feeling like David had so much more to give us. It is bittersweet that they carry on. Itll be interesting to see how the writing credits work out this time. I do enjoy Bjorns writing too, he has come up with some great riffs. All in all, I am glad Soilwork is still going.
