I was never really a big fan of the original because if the whote florals. But the Le Parfum is right up my alley! Since purchasing that I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole with cillecting the flankers. I have the Extreme, floral shock and Neon. I had Nuit Blanche but again the white florals were too much so I sold it. Floral Shock is my favourite!

Black Opium OG is one of my favorite scents. It’s in my top ten for sure. So many people seem to passionately hate it 🤷🏻‍♀️. One KZbinr said it is the smell of “bad decisions” 🤣. Don’t care that people think it smells like slutty. I will continue to love it ❤️❤️

Floral Shock and Intense are my favorite Black Opium scents. Floral Shock lasts a lot longer on me than the original ever did. I’m very disappointed that it was discontinued. I’m sure Intense is next on the chopping block. L’Oréal is the plague of the beauty industry. They are destroying so many brands. Watering down formulas and discontinuing great scents left and right. Mugler being one of their most brutalized victims.

And just like that, you became my favourite fragrance KZbinr! I’m completely new to fragrances; it’s only recently I’ve become obsessed practically overnight. I’ve spent the past month bingeing on fragrance vids and smelling in stores. My knowledge is limited so all I go by is simply what smells lovely, and Black Opium has been the most memorable and beautiful out of everything so far. I get the coffee as much as the vanilla and to me that’s what makes it beautiful. I’ve found that it gets so much hate on KZbin - almost to the point that people are hating on it or simply not mentioning it because of the trend and the stigma of it. But I find it all BS: when one tells you to throw yourself in the bin for wearing the generic and boring Black Opium but in the same breath tells you how great Flowerbomb is 🤔; or when another says Black Opium isn’t mature/sexy but then says how amazing Poison Girl is.. well, I’ll stick to my own opinion, thanks. Thank you for being a KZbinr who is still talking about Black Opium because so many of us out there love it, and not jumping on the hate bandwagon! Loving your videos.

I could not agree with you more Amber! I am a huge collector, and I do not understand why Black Opium is on the naughty list, but hypnotic poison is well loved. They are both warm vanilla scents. One has a play doh almond note, the other, coffee.. I love this and the original Opium!

I love these perfumes from YSL💞And I agree with you - Floral Shock is amazing! I also got the Nuit Blanche which I’ve had for years. Now I’m considering buying Illict Green 🥰(I love the smell..! )Or maybe one of the other Black Opiums. Not sure which one to go for, yet. Sephora is selling a travel size of the new Extreme, so I've got that coming to wear once the weather gets cooler. I tested in store and liked that it wasnt quite as sweet as the original. ❤️

This video inspired me to venture out of my YSL Libre Parfum obsession for a day and try the Black Opium. I stuck with the Eau De Parfum. Although I enjoyed the intense, the coffee note in that one seemed to be shouting obscenities at me. I can’t say that I like it more than Libre…BUT…it definitely gave her a run for her money. It melted into my skin and I could not stop obsessing over the way I smelled in it. Thank you for this video, because I would have never thought to try it until I watched!

I'm trying to figure out what scent or note it is that makes my stomach twist I love Ari by Ariana Grande, absolutely adore Black Opium, I love Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier I despise Good girl by Carolina Herrera, Manifesto by Yves Saint Laurent, Pink Sugar by Aqualina, Black Orchid by Tom Ford I was convinced it was the Patchouli because I also don't like Angel by Thierry Mugler but there's patchouli in black opium and scandal so is it the cedar wood? the tonka bean? the sandalwood? the musk? I don't have a clue but the perfumes I don't like have one specific scent in common that I can't name... it's sickening and overwhelming but I'm a sucker for sweet scents

Came back to say that the weather has really cooled down where I'm at and for whatever reason, I pulled out Black Opium and tried it on again and WOW. It's like night and day with this one from when I first tested it! Would I say it's my new favorite? Probably not...however I'm getting the more complex notes now and am actually quite enjoying the scent. It rally proves how the different seasons can have a huge impact on fragrance! I don't know, I'm kinda back tracking on the negative things I said before. LOL!

I only own the Intense, but I could wear all of them. I used to wear the original from the 70's...if you think the actual version is strong, multiply by 10 and maybe. The fragrance was different.

I was so excited to smell OG black opium but I was really disappointed by it and couldn’t believe it was meant to smell like coffee because it just smelled like very powdery sweet vanilla to me. After watching this video I gave the flankers a try and extreme is exactly what I thought the original was going to smell like! I love how strong the coffee is and I don’t find the vanilla sickly sweet in that one

I had the original. It didn't seem to last long on me but we don't always smell ourselves. I love it though. Been wanting to get my hands on the other versions for sure. I love the bottles so I've been avoiding doing a scent subscription or discounted vials because I love the bottles so much. So the price tags for me are so high! I recently tried si' by Armani and I got huge discounts on the Armani site. So I've been into collecting those versions. I also got a special edition that is discontinued for a great price! Blind bought the Black Opium EDP (luckily travel size) and am so sad because all I can smell is sickly sweetness and florals. I don't smell any "warmth" at all which bums me out. That being said, I'm a Shalimar/Coco/Coco Noir type gal...so this is a tad different than what I usually reach for. It kind of reminds me of Juicy by Juicy Couture, which someone I knew in the past wore. Again, kinda bummed...but maybe I can pawn this off on someone that may enjoy it.

Is there a difference between the regular Eau de toilette and the Eau de toilette glowing? I can't seem to find the regular for sale anymore, but you do not mention 'glowing'; also on fragrantica I can't find the glowing, only the regular. So I wonder if they are the same, or is it a new version? I used to have and love the floral shock, looking for an alternative, something fresher then the original, but maybe more of the coffee than the floral shock.

I've heard that Good Girl supreme smells somewhat similar to black opium, and I'm wondering if that's actually true, and which one is better. Personally I love the original Good girl, and really like black opium. So I'm curious as to whether Supreme could be considered a bit of a cross between OG Good Girl and Black Opium.
