I'm glad Clara asked her about the title of her album to allow her to be open about the space she is in. I agree with Clara, Solange does appear extremely peaceful & comfortable with her Self, her direction, and her choices & definitely has stepped into her own. At 26, she seems to be a very old soul & still has the looks of youth. Fortunate girl, especially as a woman in the music industry. THANK YOU 4 keep her music & her out in the forefront for all 2 c!! Such a jewel should never be hidden!

i gotta say, i was never a huge fan of Solange in the past, but this album is refreshing, and it's making me take more notice of her and her earlier work. I really like her overall vibe, i like that she appreciates and draws from music from the 80's (one of my favorite eras for pop music), and is knowledgable about music from the 50's and up as well. I second one of the previous poster's observation that she's very articulate and intelligent, makes her all the more likable.

I love her answer to the people that downplay her past successes! I was a fan of Solange before I liked Beyonce or Destiny's Child. Her first album achieved what Beyonce's didn't until "4" That being: Me not pressing the skip button over songs I could do without. I LISTENED TO 'SOLO STAR' FROM START TO FINISH!

What I meant was...I wasn't so much a fan of DC when I was a fan of Solange. When they put out their Survivor album, Solange had put out Solo Star, and I LOVED that WHOLE album- as opposed to just SOME of the tracks I liked scattered across DC's whole body of work at that point.

solange's style of music is amazing...it puts me in this cool place... like i go back to my childhood and think of good times... her music makes me have this warm fuzzy feeling... its not overwhelming or demanding like her sister's music... not saying that her sister's music is bad, but sometimes you need something calm cool and mellow and nice, which is what solange brings to the table... but i also feel like solange is a little too mellow and she needs to work work work in the studio.
