I've seen a lot of those 2.1A USB sockets installed in camper vans and heard that the owners were surprised to find they had battery issues due to the slow persistant drain from having those USB sockets permanently connected and not switched.

The power sockets are a neat solution to provide 2.1A USB and QC3 USB, however they must be switched, as they have a 40 to 80 mA parasitic drain.

It’s looking good, I’m liking the use of individually switched sockets. I think the higher drain of 40mah is just the built in voltmeters, I have usb sockets with a blue led which cause a drain if not switched. The QC usb is a nice touch too, bit pricey though

It's interesting to see the normal USB using more current in an idle state. Considering those will just buck regulators, they're not very efficient. The QC must be a more complicated boost/buck, as it will step the output up over battery voltage to whatever the QC standard is, or drop it down to 5 volts for regular USB output. Once this accumulator project is completed, I'll be testing the USB outputs, particularly the QC USB output.
