Solar actualy does not charge the watch, but the system uses solar energy instead of the battery. Same functionality on 7X solar. I went for sunny vacations with 7x (80-100k lux per day), and within 3 weeks the battery was about 60%

I don't understand why they don't do functional straps. For example, put solar on the strap, the are exposed to the sun will be significantly higher. Also, other sensors (such as the blood pressure) or batteries can be placed on there.

You should see remarkable increase in charging efficiency if you put the watch to Sleep or better shut It off. Also change your watchface to Standard Garmin One without ticking Seconds.

@@TimoRB I don’t think this watchface affects the battery life, as the default one also have live updates every second, and never had any decrease in Battery Days Left, but good point, in my next longer charging video I’ll use the default watch face! Thanks 👍

less than 1% in 1 an hour , so 1% needs 2-3 hours full sun I suppose
