This was a great vid. Most vids are a repeat in every different type, ie water well drilling , excavator jobs, Most viewers are over sixty, retired, and like seeing accomplishment- you need a stand for the camera, 3 legs !/2's then Mama can continue to co-ordinate with your work

Nice solution to a mount issue, took the high ground for an unobstructed view. The only negative is the customer never clearing the work area of brush and materials for you. Too many trip hazards.

You need to add a 6 or 8 inch lever to your pipe dog ... You can tie a light line to it and control when it grabs the pipe.. it'd reduce the number of times you have to climb a tower.

That’s exactly what we do!!!! A T with a street elbow, and check valve! Works great!!! This one, the didn’t even want the mill hooked up anymore, so I opted to leave the cylinder in place, just in case.

Good video. I was surprised they did not make a manual old style windmill pump with, and solar panel electric pump built in. That way it could pump off the sun during the day and off the wind during the night. That might be too much water, so it would need a bypass circuit to return excess water back to well. Helical rotor pumps are positive displacement you shouldn't be able to pull water through it with windmill pump. you'd be better with a tee above the wind mill pump and hook the helical to tee with elbow pointing down to use same pipe.

Yep exactly. That’s our standard design that we use if the casing is big enough. I knew this one would never be used as a windmill again, but we left it there in case. You could easily suck air through, so I figured water could be moved through it also. 🤷. Thank you for the heads up!

Best is to install a ‘T’ between the pumps, and off that ‘T’, a check valve, that allows the windmill to suck through the check valve instead of through the solar pump. Then, when the solar is used, the water can go up through the well cylinder. Works great, as long as you have a 5 or 6” casing at least.

Some we do, but this one had no holes to put one. When it’s full, it has a high level overflow which leads to the creek in the adjacent pasture.

No sir! It drained just to the weep hole, then when the sun comes up, fills the stand pipe and is dumping into the tank in about 20 seconds!

Just out of curiosity, it looks like the windmill has sufficient wind to operate the pumping of water so why did the owner decide to go with solar?

The wind was at the perfect spot for it to get with it! But, all summer, the tank stays empty, which is the most needed time. The trees surround it completely on the south side, so very little water gets pumped.
