Greetings from Russia! We dry fruit and herbs and make herbal vitaminized teas in long winters. We use mostly electric dryers, but solar drying might be an alternative

Hello , thanks for your comments. Fruits and herb dehydration is awesome and using solar drying as an alternative is great. You can use thicker material as your green house covering that would help to trap heat much better during the cold weather. Thanks

nice job. greens like herbs and lettuce and spinach work really good. sprinkle flakes in catchup on burger or put blender for fruit smoothie get greens in winter when not growing.

nice job design point roof means water collect slide down side away food. metal panels put food on heat help deydrate it. your next project should try make solar oven so make bread or pezza next. from stuff save. this done with refective mirrors shine sun light on bottom metal pot. or magnify glasses intensify sun light. L shape mirror . with cross bare hold pot or cook pan. it really hot so carful cook meat. or grill vegetables. or solar hot water bath tub. that kinda hit miss warm up water to what people want. put water in dehydrator till hot poor it in tub.

Yes, the fans are to aid airflow in order to get drying faster. With proper design it works effectively without fans, though would take longer time compare to forced convection(fan aided)

That is natural convection, what is explained in the video is forced convection. Natural convection can be made effective by building the shapes to carefully so that the air is sucked out faster.

Hello Samnang, I suppose you intend to compare open drying under the sun and this technology of solar drying. I have a proof that this technology is much faster. As I explained in the video that by green house effect you get more heat for the material dried and as long as there is good ventilation the moisture is effectively removed.
