EMG's are much fuller. You're test was very clear. The way you say solderless is fine. People with English as their first language often mispronounce words much worse. If you are wondering how to say solder, it would be pronounced without the 'L'. So it would be sodder.

Thanks for the comparison! Isolated I totally preffered the EMG. Hmmm, maybe the Solar would be a tad easier to handle in a mix. To me the Solar sounded a bit more ”mix ready”. Both were great though 🤟 Cheers // Wince

Personally like how the Solars sound. Much more natural and less fuzz. There's always a time and place for an EMG though, just depends on the style that you're playing

The EMG has a little more bite, I'd go with it for a truly unabashed metal guitar. But the Duncan is close, and I think it would be a great option for someone who wants that chonky sound in a passive pickup. I'm considering a Solar guitar, and I think the Duncans will get me by until I have some spare cash for EMG's.

The Solar pickups are good. I'd still swap them foe EMG 81s though, so I don't have to adjust amp setting for just one guitar.

A lot more punch in EMG-s. especially on power cords. More song in the mid range in the Solars. The best of Both Worlds - Fishman Fluence Moderns.

EMG has never been my fav pickups, I would switch the Duncan Solar for another passive pickup instead like the Duncan Black Winter for example If I wanted hotter pickups. I recommend you try them out. Solar also has newer Duncan Solar + pickups which are slightly more hotter than the standard Duncan solar pickups, but I think the Duncan Black Winter is even more hot.

The EMG 81 is almost always the best pickup choice. Here with your rig and setup it destroyed that Chinese solar pickup.

Duncan solar basicly is a duncan design HB14, cheap version of Seymour Duncan SH14

In this demo it's true, EMG sounded really good, but I have two solars, one with Fishman Fluence Modern and one with a Duncan Solar and some other guitars with Seymour Duncan SH5 and SH6 - the Duncan Solar sounds different on its own, but not bad in any shape or form. I really liked the EMG 57 and HetSet when I tried them out on a different guitar, the crushed the 81 all day long. But the EMG81 is just a legend - can't debate that.

Emg- bit scooped and bassy. Duncan- more mids and pronounced.

The "L" is silent in solder so it's just pronounced "SAH-DER"
