On this day, I was with friends in Toccoa, Georgia. I had a migraine from traveling 13 hours with little sleep just to get to Atlanta. I still would not trade the experience for anything, because watching a total solar eclipse is the most ethereally beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.

oh, this was such a delight to come across. i was a senior in college, training for a pre-orientation community engagement program i do, and in the middle of training, we took a pause to experience the eclipse. the changes we barely perceptible where i was in nyc, probably cause it was Very cloudy that day?, so it was extra neat to see this video and to see the dramatic changes in light and to see everyone's reactions. real glad that you caught it on the vlog and that y'all got to experience it like that together.

Over here in the UK, I think that the eclipse was possibly just a few percent so it was really cool getting to see this footage of it.

The footage of the change in lighting is pretty accurate but no pictures/video do justice to what the actual solar eclipse looks like. Jeff's photo is pretty accurate but in real life the beams of sunlight coming out from behind the moon are a lot more silver in color and they are constantly bending and twisting around the surface of the moon.

My youngest son was in the hospital at the time of the eclipse and we were lucky enough to be able to go outside to see it. Thankfully, Columbia, MO was in the path of totality so we got to see the same thing you did and it was absolutely amazing. It was so strange how dark it got in the middle of the day, but absolutely breathtaking.

Great to "experience" the eclipse again. I remember that when the eclipse began, it started to get quite cold and rapidly began darkening. Pretty much my entire family was outside to see it. When the eclipse was finally in effect, it was just... quite the moment. A great moment at that.

I got to see the eclipse in totality (in southeastern Idaho) and it was just amazing honestly. Seeing all the pictures that people have taken even with the best cameras doesn't even compare because there's just idk a feeling of depth to it I guess, that you can't really perceive in pictures, not to mention that just how it was getting dim but differently from a sunset, and this description doesn't even come close to doing it justice. That being said, the drive home was about 3-4 hours if I remember right where it's normally about 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it.

The college I go to was right in the line of totality, so we had a solar eclipse festival. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I didn't get to see the shadow snakes, but I got to see the diamond ring effect as the moon starting to move away from the sun. The whole thing seemed even more magical because a gong was hit when we got to take our glasses off and when we had to put them back on.

I managed to catch the eclipse during a camping trip to Devil's Lake; a couple of women were kind enough to lend me and my family their eclipse glasses while we were hiking to Balanced Rock. I was at work and made it a priority to be outside during the maximum coverage here. I believe it was around 70ish percent covered where I was that day and I could definitely tell the sunlight was dimmer. It also dropped 5-6 degrees and felt noticeably less warm during it. The unexpected aspect were the shadows that the trees were casting. Each shadow was a crescent shape and I was not expecting that at all. I was also able to convince my boss to come look at it as he didn't seem that interested. It's a few-in-a-lifetime experience, and I was so blessed to be able to see it and that the weather cooperated! There is a path of totality that passes within a state's distance of where I live in 2024, so I'm definitely making the trip to the path's center! :D

I went on a trip out west to see this take place. My parents and I, after stopping at the place were there are faces in a mountain (which is actually sacred native ground) ended up in Lusk, WY. It was absolutely surreal how everything thought it was about to be night time. The birds stopped chirping, animals tried to settle in for the "night". When the sun emerged, the world reawakened as if it was the dawn of a new day. More personally, as cool as that was, it was also the last trip our family took before my mother got the diagnosis of cancer. Our last "good" trip, as it was. Great memories. I'm glad Cheffcon just happened to coincide with this event (although I'm sure that was somewhat planned).

I'm in New Jersey and the eclipse day was on the same day as my driving test (I failed that though because I accidentally had the car in reverse right as the test started--we didn't even get to the actual driving part!). Anyway, it was quite cloudy but the clouds actually shielded the glare, so I could make quick glances at the sun (of course not completely staring at it). I even managed to get good pictures of it. Wasn't total, but it still looked amazing.

As for my part of the world- I did see the eclipse, but not in totality. I was at work when the peak of the eclipse happened, but I was able to get outside to see the ~90% coverage of the sun. The next totality that comes to the States will be coming through my area, but that's not until 2024. If you're interested in seeing that one, you should be able to go to Muncie for it.

I was able to watch this eclipse right outside my work. Luckily for me it was slow and the clouds helped with seeing it without the glasses. I only got 75% of it making it a partial in west Texas. This was my very first solar eclipse and hope to see the next one in a few more years

I live in Pa, so I didn't get to see it in totality and I didn't get my hands on those fun glasses. I think we had some 70% totality. Thankfully, I quickly thought of a way to see the eclipse. I got my digital camera, flipped the screen out and aimed the lens towards the sun and used the zoom to see the eclipse through the screen. It was an awkward position for me to hold for a while and I had the camera on auto so it was doubly hard to get pictures in focus. I got about 3 or 4 "good" pictures out of several dozen shots. I also really liked the effect the eclipse had on the shadows between leaves. I saw that and I got pictures of that.

Yeah, I know, old video...sue me :p Went to see the eclipse with one really close friend and 3 other people she knew. Drove down from New York to South Carolina for it - first time I'd ever been that far south at all. Stayed near Columbia to watch (a park there who's name I can't quite remember) and also...so breathtaking. Pictures and videos just can't quite compare (especially because they generally don't quite match how dark it actually is). After, we drove up to Darlington and stayed in a motel around there overnight before driving back up north. Remember kind of wishing over there (even though I knew there was next to no actual chance) that I'd randomly see you guys. Would have only made a great day better. A well p

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_solar_eclipses_in_the_21st_century Heavens no. Total Solar Eclipses are rare, but not rare enough that it's unlikely to witness at least two in the U.S in a typical lifetime. If you click on the link, you'll see that the next one is April 8th, 2024 along with 5 more for this century. And if you were born around or after the turn of the millennium, with proper health you can probably live to see 4 of those :)

Man, I surely wish I could've been there to see it but thus, I live on the other side of Atlantic Ocean. The next full solar eclipse over Sweden is predicted to pass again in over 100 years so I probablly won't ever see one for myself.

I hope you guys didn't get stuck in traffic afterwards like we did. Our 1 hour drive to our hotel for the night took us 5 hours DX

Ah!!! That skyward sword Link and Zelda figurines were our wedding cake toppers! The exact same ones with the stands! We still have them in our living room. Cooool. I really hope Nintendo remakes Skyward Sword on the Switch with controls that are... Less infuriating. I'm undecided if I'd want to see you and Mal play this game. It's my favorite Zelda title and means stuff to my husband and I. The voices you guys provide are hilarious, but... Yeah.

Ianthe Silverfire If you mean removing the motion controls, there’s no way they’d do that. It was the whole focus of the gameplay, like it or not. I liked most of it, never really had any problems.
