Tomorrow, millions of Canadians living in the eastern part of the nation will witness a total solar eclipse, a once-in-a-lifetime event.
The eclipse will be visible across dozens of communities, with cities in the path of totality expecting a large influx of eclipse watchers.
The timing and geography of the eclipse will play a crucial role, as only those in the "path of totality" will be able to witness the full effect.
Eric Sorensen breaks down all the details.

My elementary school in the 80s: There's an eclipse! Heres some special glasses, let's all go outside and look at it! My kids elementary school now: *sends an email* Due to the eclipse we will be keeping the children inside and safe.

Lots of partial eclipses but never full solar. Next one we get is August 23 2044 in Sask, Alberta and BC. I'm going to make a trip for that one. It'll be the last chance for me to fully experience it in my lifetime. If you travelled around the globe you could see one every year and a half, but for NA it's this and 2044 for most of us.

I really don’t understand the hype of eclipses . Ive witnessed a couple in my lifetime… and yeah, they are kinda strange. It’s a strange feeling to have it get dark mid day . But knowing what it is and what’s causing it making it a meh 🤷🏻‍♂️ to me . Last one in 2017, I was outside cutting my lawn . It got darker, and I never even stopped cutting my lawn . Then it got lighter again . 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s a shadow .. we call see shadows every day . This is just on a bigger scale. It’s very over hyped . I can’t imagine travelling somewhere to see it happen . I could honestly care less .

Not all solar eclipses are the same, unless you have the resources to get yourself to near Point Nemo for 5 minutes a few years from now, you won't see one like this again for a LONG time. I actually feel bad for you that you don't understand the significance. Frankly I respect the nutjob that think it's the rapture more than I respect the "too cool to look at it" crowd.
