Because solar panels generate dc power,which is measured in kw(no power factor)

Inverter comes with both ratings If refer operating manuals technical details you will get both value kVA and kW The provided kW values at this PF 1

Most of the SMA inverter more than 10 kW capacity comes with 100% active and reactive power Therefore you can either take 100 % active or reactive power but most of other inverters do not have this capability

A Solar Inverter can also improve the PF by exporting or importing reactive power. Many inverters now have this option and some brands like SMA can even compensative reactive power at night. Since a solar inverter itself can compensate reactive power then there is no need to install capacitor banks.

Excellent. Yar thoda pf ko domestic level pe batao na. Aur thoda sa asan karke. Aur yar agar hum ko 1kv ya 1.5 kv ka solar system lagana hai to what precautions to be taken. Infact its very good if you suggest or recommend which panel.,inverter (pcu) and other accessories to be purchased for domestic level to reduce the electricity bill. Thanking you God bless you

Nicely explained Himanshu . Keep Going However, At 8.16, you have shown a power triangle after installation of SPV System for which you have kept the reactive power same (32.9). Doesnt the reactive power also decrease as the power taken from the Grid decreases ? Please do clarify the same

As of my knowledge, the reactive power is generated from our load not received from the utility. The utility imposes fines for the lower power factor forcing us to improve. 4:35

But net active power remains the same which is required by the system(100 KW) whether we are taking it from Grid or from Solar plant (40 KW + 60 KW) . Requirement is the same . If the required active power decreases from 100 KW to 40 KW then we can say that Power Factor is distorted .

Sir, thanks for making video on pf. But video was very basic. I thought u would focus more on harmonics as Solar plant produces 30-35% Thd which disrupts the existing Apfc & hence affects energy consumption + equipments. Lastly a very interesting question: I measure Solar pf from AC o/p of Inverter it was 0.96, So I my clients only consumes solar generated kwh, how will it affect overall pf?

Hello Himanshu, Hope you are doing well. I am facing issue in one of my solar project..it's a KIA Motors Service Center plus showroom.we have installed 50kw sungrow inverter with 63kw solar panels.they have their own PFI..when we are connecting our solar with their main power our solar main AC breaker trips..I just want to know, is it possible that this is because of PFI? It seems like their load is less and their minimum size capacitor is of 12.5kvar rating and maximum of 50kvar..with the discharge of that smallest one, the excess power reserve to our solar breaker and cause it's trip...is it possible?if I am wrong please correct me. Thank you

did u get some solution, I am facing the same problem.........where to place the CT with integrated systems of PV solar and utility. our system consumes 300KVA and solar panels provide only 200KW , the pf goes down specially when our utility is not consuming power

i understood what he is saying, my Infini 3kw allows power factor setting which was set at default at 1. this means, should i correct it in my inverter. I have currently set it at 0.97, hope, i dont have to install a capacitive load and inverter now will be producing reactive power.

I have installed a solar inverter in off grid system. When there is no load connected inverter shows an apparent power of 250 VA and active power of 0 watt. Please give any solution

Lekin aapne to example me kvar 32.9 hi liya h jab ki power 100kw se 40kw ho gayi h.. Please explain.. Becoz I am on a site where they company face a leading power factor problem at factory no load condition..

Ghar ka PF itna he hota hai , and there is no penalty for it

PF for EB import Power factor 0.636 Solar Export Power factor 0.950 So how to improve my import Power factor

Sir capacitor bank can't maintain grid PF when we install solar power plant, we can maintain it from Inverter site to add reactive power settings.

Capacitor bank maintain load PF. Yes branded Inverters do have KVAR settings.
