With the help of Dave from @endgameCampers, we install three BougeRV Arch 100 Watt Fiberglass Curved Solar Panels, the BougeRV Sunflow 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller, and the Bouge RV 2000W 12V Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Bluetooth on my Capri Cowboy Camper. After installing all this, we put them to the test under real life camping conditions. We were very impressed with all three BougeRV products, and particularly with the wattage output of the solar panels. Specs of the products, along with links and discount code are below:

How great to have the solar power, especially for the air conditioning! Great video to explain the panel. How nice that Dave helped you install this equipment.

Hi Andrea! The solar panels are truly wonderful! I want to put them on my home but the stupid HOA won’t let me. It is truly a great technology. Literally free power after the initial cost. And the cost has come way down. Always good to hear from you and thanks for commenting!

Great setup. Keep us posted on that double sided tape, not sure how well it will hold up in direct Southern Utah sunshine. When I first moved down here from the Salt Lake valley I made the mistake of mounting a mercury type thermometer on my front porch. The direct sunlight hit it in the morning and blew the top off it.

I will definitely post a comment if the panels start to come loose. I have a friend here in St. George that used the same mounting tape to secure 4 panels on his camper and it’s held for 4 years now. Likewise, Dave has had good luck with it. But I know exactly what you mean as I’ve had similar things happen like you mentioned. Thanks for commenting!

Good info, solar has been a hobby for a while, always careful to fuse all components. Built 3 systems for my sheds, wondered about the flexible panels.

Great setup. That Tape Seemed Heavy Duty. Looked Similar to the Gorilla Tape But Probably alot stronger.

Thanks @handicamper for the comment. It is really thick tape and adheres strongly. I had never used it before. It’s been a month now and everything is holding up very well. Always good to hear from you!

Good for you, glad it works! Don't quite understand why you have a black camper where you live. It aborbes so much heat. Sure you have good insulation. But would think white would had been the choice. Hey, as long as your happy with it is all that matters 😊. Keep some spray wax on that camper every month. It will keep it from fading, & will protect it.😉

Where were you when I bought the camper? Lol 😂 I have to agree 100%. In hindsight I should have gone with white. I do love the looks of the camper as is. But it was not the most practical color choice for the desert climate. Do you have a particular spray wax you recommend? Thanks!

@adventuresofshadowdog lol...I use a Meguire's brand spray wax. But any auto spray wax is better than nothing. They will protect. 🙂

Im no electrician but it would seem to make sense to me, after you have determined the system is live, to cover the panels to ensure max safety when completing the install..?

I’m curious how much hotter the inside of the camper got. I bet there was a significant increase, unless you have lots of insulation.

Good question. Campers vary a lot in regard to insulation. The Capri Camper is very well insulated. I saw the building process when I toured the facility where they were building them. You can see that in the video I made when I picked it up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIKQfaGCqb58rcksi=VhoFD6OeooZVP8Cx Now, I probably made a mistake in getting a black outer skin. But even then, it will stay cool when cooled or warm when heated really well for a camper. When I get in, if it feels hotter than outside, I open the windows and turn on the ceiling vent fan and bring it to outside temperature. That only takes a couple of minutes. Then I close the windows and turn on the A/C. It’s a small camper so it cools off quickly. In the winter it warms up quickly with the propane catalytic heater. I run it for about 20 minutes and turn it off. After that, I just use an electric blanket to sleep with. It stays nice and warm through the night with just the electric blanket. I don’t want to run the propane heater when I’m sleeping, even though I have smoke/carbon monoxide and propane gas detectors (it comes with them). I just don’t want to risk it and really don’t need it anyway. Sorry for the long winded answer. But I hope it helps. I would encourage you to check out the Capri website for specs and more info, and to call them with questions. They are super helpful. I have no affiliation with them, but they know me. If you call, please tell them “hi” from Lance. Thanks for watching!
