I've watched this video before but came back for another watch. I just realized you mentioned Jones Ranch. If that's the one South of Paris, that is where I purchased my Charolais bull from.
@HeritageFarmsTexas2 жыл бұрын
The Jones Ranch I’m referring to is in Telephone Texas which is NW of Paris 30 mins.

I'm glad your taking us along on this journey. Rotational grazing can make a big difference especially in areas with a long growing season. Had a Parmak for many years with no complaints but it was stationary. I have several Gallagher B200 series chargers that have worked great but are no longer available. Stafix makes a great easy to move product but we don't have any local dealers.

To be a good cattleman you have to be a good grass farmer. First thing my mentor told me and he is so right. Also, take soli samples you will save money on fertilizer, only give the ground what it needs.

Thanks for watching Joseph. I’ve heard the dame thing about being a grass farmer first, cattleman second.

Three very nice units. The unit that I use for might bee yards has about the same specs as the Stafix one you have there. When I set up one of my very 1st yard that needed a bear fence it was a wet cold day and I told Mrs. MP that I really needed to know if the fence was working but I left my tester at home. I finally worked up the nerve to grab it and not remembering that it was intermittent charges I did not get shock. So I was thinking I hope something else wrong. Then I set my hand on the fence while I was talking to Mrs. MP and let me just tell you this fence got my attention real quick from my fingertips all the way up to my elbow LOL. Thanks for sharing my friend.

Massachusetts Prepper - thanks for watching. I never thought about bear fences and bees. However, I can understand the need. Black bears?
@massachusettsprepper4 жыл бұрын
@@HeritageFarmsTexas yes my friend, black bears love to get into beehives. And is not for the honey, they are there for the protein which would be the bees and the larva. This is a high-protein source and the honey is just a sweet treat after the main course.

I just bought a Parmak 12 like that one , came with a bad battery. The Parmak warranty guy literally told me to get fucked and wouldn’t help me at all. Took it back and got my money back. They were Dicks to the store I bought it from too. Are they worth trying again? The store owner told me to go with speed right I think. Witch I believe used to be stafix. I appreciate your video and would love to know what your opinion is and what you think I should do
@HeritageFarmsTexas3 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I’d go with that speedrite. They look impressive

Pettway Family Farmstead - Thank you!! I have to tell you, the Stayfix wins hands down. It packs a punch and so far no issues. It’s my favorite.

I have 3 parmak 12 volts and they are 2 years old now and still going strong. They also have a full 3 year warranty. I had trouble last December when the weather was cold and the days were short one of the chargers was down to just a lite tickle, but they get the job done.

Matthew Kubik - appreciate the feedback. We are one season into ours and so far so good.

We have fully implemented the process. Check out our other video showing the rotational grazing. Working well. Thanks for asking.

LOL I wouldn't pay to see that.. I know what happens. I think you are on the right path for efficiency in cattle grazing and raising. Out of curiosity ..do you have high summer moisture and humidity in that area of TX to help keep grazing areas green?
@HeritageFarmsTexas4 жыл бұрын
The Drifter - summers in North Texas can go from flood to drought in very short periods of time. We get a lot of moisture in the spring then it dries up in July/August. Hopefully I’ll have some paddocks with y’all grass before that happens. Thanks for watching.

The extraneous talk about hearing yourself talk is not in the title. Keep it concise and to the point. A waste of my time.

Please don’t grab the wire but let us know where we can send stuff like insulators, wire or whatever is needed?

Thanks for watching. We greatly appreciate it! I’ll try to not grab the wire.

Curious which charger is your favorite now, and how did your fields do this year with more rotational grazing?
@HeritageFarmsTexas3 жыл бұрын
Hello, after using several different ones, I like the green one the best. The Stayfix? Seems to pack the most punch. This was our first year to do some rotational grazing. It helped, but we have a long way to go. It really helped to stretch out the rye grass last year into late spring summer.

I’m looking into planting one pasture with crabgrass. OSU has an interesting video about it on KZbin.
