I about fell out of my chair when I saw that 20KW gen for that RV. That's probably 5 to 6 times as big a gen as someone needs for a typical RV. No wonder she blows through tanks of propane. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the solar, but a 3KW gen is all most RVs need, even with the AC running.

Just discovered your channel, enjoying the videos. Not a prepper here, but would like to move in that direction. I understand the usefulness of using solar and batteries, but what happens when batteries are not available at some point, or the panels fail and cannot be replaced? Should people be planning for living without electricity as a backup to all the technology? Are you planning on doing any videos of true off the grid living or know of good sources for that type of planning?

Could you have used that creek down a bit with a min turga generator as you had in the last video to help charge the batteries? could you also possibly use a small wind turbine on the roof or a few of them to help charge the batteries? @chogg6117 жыл бұрын
Quick thought. What if the cabin shifts with the cold (assuming it gets below zero) , maybe even an earth quake. Would it have been a good idea to use a Nonmetallic Liquid tight Conduit instead of Schedule 40 PVC Conduit. BTW I love your work. I wish you were available in Ontario, Canada.

I am very surprised that you used the Flexcharge charge controller. Shading must be the reason. Do you know if they are still using the Flexcharge? How does it control the absorb voltage and float? It seems like it is just a function of on and off, on and off etc. The Mercury contactor is the only kind that can handle the abuse.
@practicalpreppers77986 жыл бұрын
Exactly, Shading is the big reason. It uses a totally different algorithm than other charge controllers and is more efficient than MPPT. 99.995% . Flexcharge is bullet proof. It's just not pretty like a Midnite Classic.
