What happens if I try using a 2" Ha filter at the eyepiece end with a typical Baader white filter in front of my primary? Will this work for photography?

If you want to do just white light photography you only need a white light filter. The Baader should be sufficient on its own. I have a glass NiSi I use with my Nikon Coolpix p1000. Works just fine for capturing white light photos of the sun with the sun spots. H-alpha on the other hand, there's a lot more complexity to it. I wouldn't recommend trying to make makeshift filters. But for white light you should be good to go with just the Baader at the front of the telescope.
