Written by Seamus Egan and Mick McAuley, this song imagines what a newly arrived immigrant to Butte might have felt facing his or her first Christmas in foreign land far from the warm embrace of family and friends.

Mick McAuley is a gentleman who plays a mean box and whose voice is heaven on earth. Anything Mick does is worth listening to and enjoying.

Lovely song, so many images and emotion it evokes.

yefaircity - on the contrary "X" is the Greek letter Chi which has been used as a symbol for the name of Christ since the early days of Christianity. (Ref: The bones of St Peter, which has images of the graffiti scribbled on the wall adjacent to the tomb of the apostle) So rather than a secular meaning, it has a deeply Christian one! Must comment on the song - it's gorgeous!

What does The X stand for in Xmas ? Is this for the people who want Christmas without Christ in it ?
