I had a 1969 LTD two door totally blacked out with a vinyl top and it had the 429 in it what An effing machine she was!, She had factory 3-in exhaust the modular iron 9-in with a big BV axles C6 automatic and heavy duty suspension all the way around I tell you with that car they can build three cars today out of that one car, she was my all time favorite, my mother gave me that car she paid the 750 dollars for it and she gave it to me when she bought a 1980 Buick regal. I translates that car in the street I lost once. Boy that's really good old days 💥🔥🤘

i had a 69 LTD, fully loaded with a 429. long story short. i got into a drag race on my wedding day on my way to the wedding. the engine blew up in the process. needless to say i was late and everybody thought i beat feet out of town. but no the guy i raced was pretty cool he turned around and gave me a lift 20 miles across town to the church.a week after the honeymoon i tore into the engine and did a full on rebuild. of course i was only 18 ( yes i married young,but this is the short version).so i enlisted the help of an old gear head. here i am 40 years later still working on cars and have done 3 restorations 2 cars and a motorcycle. that old LTD was one of my favorite cars i had ever owned. i was hoping to see the fender badge denoting engine size in the video as that was probably my favorite thing on the car, but i don't guess it was thought of. thanks for the walk around.

It sure is a beautiful car. I think that the late '60s are early '70s cars were nicer than today's. I was lucky enough to have had a white '69 Ford XL convertible back in the day. Good memories !

We lost our 2nd 70 LTD wagon to a girl going the other way, trying to figure out how to change the radio station, partially broadsiding, then side swiping our car, totaling it. I saved the am-fm radio figuring on getting another. I ended up getting a 1979 Lincoln town car. Still have the radio.

XL became its own brand in 1967. 62-66 it was the Galaxy 500 XL.

429 XL with 4 speed and the clock dont work OMG, lol

That 429 is a high-compression engine and would need high-test fuel. At today's prices, driving it a lot, will put you in the poor-house.

@@jobamasux Never came across an old car where the clock worked . The mechanical movement is just like a wrist watch. Has to be dissasemled and lubricated, and it never happens.
