Because in general other nations usually take higher care and respect of vehicles other than the USA. In the USA in general vehicles are seen as nothing more than a fleeting ownership, affordable and disposable. In many countries they treat them as though they are for life and to be passed on with no max life span.

These Toyota's are practically indestructible, if well maintained. Top Gear tried to destroy one in the most spectacular ways but they failed. So they gave it an honor place in their studio, out of respect.

The Top Gear one had the 22R engine if I remember correctly, anything else is almost the same, I have no idea about the 3 cylinder diesel engine, I know the 3 cylinder engines are to shaky, and makes them a bit less durable, but as I say I don't now about this diesel engine, I never had or even drive one.

WOW!!!!!! Looks waaaaay smaller from the outside than what it actually is on the inside. Amazed by how spacious it is !!! And Berth 4 ?! Seriously?! Of course it's small for 4 people to spend more than like 2 weeks holiday....but i'm not even sure it's true what i'm assuming.... I've been searching for the perfect camper to live&travel full time on my own. And i think i've just found it. From all points of view I am truly amazed by this spectacular Toyota Hilux Camper. Just wow. Them Japanese sure know how to take advantage of space and make the best out of it. I think this is the best camper i've seen so far. Considering I was looking for something small, like Berth 2-3, something like a Talbot Express, to be able to drive it pretty much everywhere without worrying about the size of the vehicle and without the "parking space" problem which ceases to be a problem for Talbot Express and of course for this Toyota Hilux as well. Not to mention it's a 4x4 so really, driving it ANYWHERE shouldn't be a problem, even the most "unfriendly" road. By far the best presentation i've seen on youtube. My opinion. I guess it's because you went exactly where i was expecting you to go (filming). You were showing exactly what i wanted to see and explained it properly. Now i know exactly what i want. And i want this!!!!! In any case, a Toyota Hilux Camper. Just discovered my dream camper to travel&live full time. Big enough for me, and big enough even if i was to have 3 more persons with me (well, for "not too long" of course, like for a 2-3 week holiday. Month tops). Wasn't expecting to see a shower room as well ( even if it's the same with the toilet room). I honestly think it's better this way. Others rather have them rooms separate. 1 just the shower and the other sink + WC, which i never liked. Yea, maybe it's more comfortable but I think it only is if you're travelling wth more than 1 person. If it's just me (or you xD) I don't really need separate shower room. I can cope with my own shit smell while taking a shower. And the good part is that in absence of the "Bidet" you can properly wash yourself down there after dropping the "morning bomb". Soooo yea. In just a few words: I fell in love with this Toyota Hilux Camper. Badly. And i have no idea how much it costs one, but i'm sure as hell it worths every penny!!!! This is the first one i'm seeing here on youtube. The first presentation. And let me congratulate you my friend for the great job you did presenting this beast. Nailed it!!!!! I could watch your videos all day. Again, congratulations for the complete and accurate presentation. Also you have a pleasant voice to hear and you seem a smart guy. I will definitely subscribe and check some more videos of yours! :D Enjoyed all 22 minutes and 49 seconds!!! Thanks for showing this beautiful beast!!! Take care and keep it up!!! Cheers mate!

I heard you can buy toyota hilux & nissan atlax which are both manual 5 speeds, diesel, & 4x4. In Japan you guys buy them at the auction for $5k or less, & sale the for $15k & up. Vehicles in Japan have to be maintained to be kept in the road. That's why they are all good running vehicles.

Easy enough to fix that with a turbo; one of those questionable judgment calls from Toyota regarding just about all of their diesels. They are all built well but heaven forbid being able to keep up with traffic driving a camper when all it needs is a turbo added for the necessary urgency to the engine.

Really wish they had left this with the original paint, even if it was ugly/faded and whatnot. At least that way you can easily see what you are buying, with the respray who knows how much bondo filler is in that back camper shell, what all sort of hack fixes they did to it to make "look" nice but it could still potentially be a giant POS under that fresh coat of paint. I can see a couple places on the inside of the camper where they had leaks. This thing isn't as "mint" as you might think. The truck portion looks great though, very clean chassis and very low miles. But the camper portion, once they start to leak, they pretty much go to hell. They make the camper wall portions out of the cheapest particle board possible, once it gets wet it loses its integrity. Campers, unless you are buying an Airstream or something very high end like a Prevost bus, they're all made like crap and have a limited useful life, even if you take excellent care of them.

Lol. No... It's not like a low rider bud. 😂😂😂 Those particular airbags are basically just for extra support and to make it ride better. Without them the rear would sag from the extra weight of the camper and when turning it would sway all over the place. Those airbags just help support the weight and keep it from tipping in turns. I guess you can let all the air out and it would lower itself a little bit under the weight... But it's not gonna be slammed. And you can't really raise it any. Just sayin. Lol. Decent guess tho.
