I recently picked up an 08 LS with the 2.4 4 speed. Honestly, it's a very solid car. The ride quality is great inside is quiet and the 4 speed trans holds its own on steep hills. The 2.4 has plenty of power once it hits proper RPM range. A/C is quite cold as well. Comparing this vehicle to a Honda or Toyota is really unfair. That is, you can pick up a 7th gen low mileage Malibu for way less than a Honda or Toyota.

I’m driving this exact car these days.. 08’ Malibu LT. over 150k miles and the reliability could be better but it’s been a good overall experience

Always did like these Malibu’s.

I owned one in 2008. Too long, the LT1 was cheap for the price. Old 2,4 motor and transmission, high on gas in the city. No middle armrest in the back seats. Cheap finishing. Some cuts everywhere to save money. After 6 years and 18KM, I let it go.

These really weren't terrible. We have a 2015 1lt Malibu for drivers Ed and it's a vast improvement over this one. It rides nice and has peppy acceleration but the backseat is very small. I'm almost convinced that something like the mk6 Jetta has more backseat room.
@gmman0109839 жыл бұрын
the backseat is bigger in this gen than the 2015.

Was never a Chevy fan but after my 07 Camrys engine is starting to go out at 171k miles I’d probably pick one of these up, or a Nissan Altima pre 2007, anything Honda or Toyota is over priced and Kia óptimas I heard they have tons of issues.

A very Sleek looking and reliable car the 2008 - 12 Malibu is. However, despite its exterior size, the car is rather cramped inside for 5'7" Me. The cloth seats are also very uncomfortable to me after long drives. I guess they just don't design cars with comfort in mind anymore.

what is the price range of this car
@tylervilbert50717 жыл бұрын
Marcus Seagraves depending on the mileage I'd say in between $5,000 and $8,000. This an 08, it's 2017 and the car only has 48k on the dash and is in perfect condition so it'd probably go for 7 or 8 grand. I own a 2010 Malibu. It had 86,000 miles on it and they wanted $7,400 for it. I paid $6,800. These cars are still worth a good amount because of their sleek design and power in the engine. Be advised that there a LOT of recalls on these cars. Mostly on the 2011 years. So my advice would be to buy one from a owner who has all the paperwork with clean carfax. Hope I helped !!
