Watching this is so nostalgic for me, even if it's only been a month since my car was totaled. Pro tip, you won't always beat that yellow light, and if you don't a silver versa hatch might tear off your front drivers side tire with its face while making a left turn on a solid green arrow. My car was the exact same as this one and it served me very well for 6 years. I only had to replace the battery once, back in 2017, and because I got the oil changed regularly it was going real strong and could have lasted me much longer. This car could have been trucking as long as my moms 2005 altima if it weren't for crv drivers that are in a big damn hurry to get to nowhere special.

Sorry to hear that. I bought the 2012 hatchback new in the silver color. It's a neat little car. The only "problem" I've had with it was the recall for the Takata air bag inflators. Unfortunately Nissan has powered-down the new Versa hatchbacks to 109 hp from 122 hp and switched from the 4-speed auto transmission to a CVT transmission, so I don't think I'll be buying a new Versa when the time comes.

Is this problem really common or it only happens to just a minority of Versa owners? Reason I asked: I am interested in a used 2012 Nissan Versa 1.8 S four-door Hatchback 4A at my local used car dealer. Price (as of 2018) is $3,990 with 164,000 miles on it. Automatic 4-Speed transmission. Not knowing the history of that hatchback (whether it has previous transmission problems or soon will), should I still consider this car?

@@MoniqueFromPlymouth the CVT version of this car will cost you 4k to repair. Get the 4 speed AT automatic transmission, much cheaper to repair if it fails.

I am looking to buy my first car in a few months, I will have close to $7000 and am wondering which car is the best bang for your buck when it comes to reliability. Also, that money will factor into insurance costs. Nothing fancy, just something that can get me from point A to point B. Also, I'm looking at cars between the years 1990-2005. What do you think would be a good pick? I am currently looking at the 2001-2005 Honda Civic Coupe. Thanks!

A close friend of mine has an 01 Civic EX coupe and its a great car! They're a little too dime a dozen for me and you do have to watch out for transmission issues in them but they are fantastic, cheap cars. If you are working with a budget that large and want to have some money left over I would also recommend a CB7 Accord (For obvious reasons).

I Heard those versas had awful Tire air system, They tend to fail as the car ages, However those versas CVT's Last longer than any other Nissan since it has a really low powered 4 cylinder, These last longer. I'm Not a fan with the design, If I were to buy one I'd buy one with close proximity (Intelligent key)
