I bought a new 2012 Versa SV sedan when they first came out. I initially loved it. It was very spacious and comfortable to drive, and the fuel economy was stellar. However, the black paint started peeling in several places the first year. Nissan took care of it under warranty, thankfully. At 30k miles I took it to the dealership to have the CVT fluid change. The dealership said their computer told them the fluid was still clean and to wait to change it at 50k miles. Well, at 38k miles the CVT started slipping and making horrible squealing noise. It was only once in a while, so it was one of those situations where the dealership would've just told me they couldn't duplicate the issue. So I kept driving hoping it would totally fail before the 60k mile warranty expired. I got it to 56k miles and it was still slipping and squealing only on rare occasions, so to avoid risking having to pay $6,000 out of pocket for a new transmission on a 2yr old car, I opted to trade it in. I was very disappointed.

I have a 2019 Nissan versa ( previously.a service car at Nissan dealership) and experienced the first issue he mentioned ( rpm vs speed). Changed the gas cap and cleaned the Mass air flow sensor, problem solved. It has 112+k miles. Extended auto warranty is offered up to 150k but declined since it's pricey. @chuckh40773 ай бұрын
Jeez. That is not normal for that many batteries in 5 years. Were you getting the very cheap ones at autozone? You must get the more expensive versions. I get one that is $150 and it lasts over 2 years before needing replacement. We have very hot summers where i live so the batteries don't last long due to AC running while idling.

@williamdenson69603 жыл бұрын
Some of my problems: 1. I drive a manual, the clutch pedal has a very squeaky bushing, 2. The starter gets covered in oil vapors since it's so close to the oil filter that it collects dirt/dust, giving the engine a struggle to turn over due to a dirty connection on the negative 3. I thought the wheel bearing gap issue in the video was my problem but mine is more of a screen door spring squeak, maybe a strut?

@waronfearmongering6751 Жыл бұрын
@@blackwidow8520 Unfortunately not, it doesn't do it when I take it in for a mechanic to look at it of course. From what I found out that I think it might be the issue is there is a rubber hose with a valve that looks like a PCV valve going from the charcoal canister and pushes into the frame of the car near the gas tank. That is where the excess fumes come from and what I think is happening is the fumes are making their way into the cab of the car through that hole. A mechanic told me that it shouldn't do that, cause that's the way it's designed. So I pulled that hose out from that hole and rerouted it back under the wheel well alongside the charcoal canister without bending it, so far it seems to help keep the fumes out, but unfortunately when you get out of the car, it stinks to high heaven from fumes. I have contacted Nissan and got nowhere, at this point I am forced to sell the car or only drive it during winter, which is the only time I don't experience the fumes. Sad though, it has been a good car up until this point, this problem started for me around 65k.

I thought I had issues with my transmission issues. Turns out it was two lights on my rear driver side. If your vehicle is in drive and your drive sign is blink in a 2014 Nissan Versa I’m 100 percent sure that’s the issue. I drove with the light off in my vehicle as well. I had no issues until I used my left turn signal. This was while all my lights were off. For all you Nissan Versa drivers who have this issue try that first before you get ripped off by a mechanic. They’ll put in a new transmission or even just change the bulbs because they know. I will still being having my car looked at by someone I trust. However 13 bucks vs thousands of dollars? I have to give credit a KZbinr who has a Nissan Sentra. Their cruise control light was blink and their car had the same issues as mine. Changing the light solved the issue for them as well.

Do you still own the car?
@MyniyahJanae3 жыл бұрын
I just purchased a 2019 Nissan Versa, it rides smooth, but to turn in a curve, the front will make noise, could it be the new tires? Another question, whether I start down a hill, the car stops slow, is that normal? Should the tire traction stay on
@shaun644443 жыл бұрын
What sort of noise? Yes it's normal for the Versa to stop slow, most cars at this price point have 4 disc brakes instead of the current 2 disc 2 drums to compensate for the lack in braking power.

this lady i was talking to said her 2014 Versa's CVT failed last year and she had mechanical coverage for $10 more each month with Geico and they fully reimbursed her the cost of the transmission. she also said her rates didn't go up at all. Anyone else hear of this kind of thing?

I need one of these videos for a 1st generation Versa. Can't find it. Coil #2 or 3 will cut out. Cars runs very rough. Then when you apply some pressure to the wiring harness by the intake, it clears up. Bad wire somewhere. All connector clips are locked. I was hoping for a clue from you, before I have to cut open this whole wire harness, to hunt for it. 😵
@henrywood2000 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like the coils are going out. Don't just replace those 2, replace all of them.
@thediplomasta5891 Жыл бұрын
@Henry Wood we did do that. To my surprise, the auto part store sold a pack of 4 coils in one box. Almost like they KNEW I would need all 4. It fixed the problem....until one of THOSE coils went bad. Then we had a tricky time trying to figure out how to warranty exchange one coil from a pack of 4. After that, it was fine again, and I advised the girl to sell the car. She did. Not my problem anymore. 🥵

yesterday mine started a loud engine knock at start up. it was running fine a few hours before that, and the day before and so on, minus some transmission and drive-ability issues ive been having for years. i did have to tighten the serpentine belt a few days ago. the weird part is the knock wasnt present a few hours before. seemed like it normally does. then i went to go out a bit later and all of a sudden when i start the car a really loud knock. i immediately turned it off. had my wife get in and turn it on while i stood at the front looking at the engine. for the few seconds the car was on it sounded like the knock was coming from more the front of the car instead of the side where the belt is. im not sure what would have caused this. i looked underneath and there didnt appear to be any major leaks or anything.
