by far the best 47 I have seen. Funny you said the owners lived on it so you wouldnt open up much , then proceeded to open up more than you have compared to the other n47's youve shown, lol.

A 47 ft trawler with a wheelhouse head . Excellent . To many manufactures seem to forget that when you got to go , you got to go . I've seen so many trawlers where you have to run down 2 decks to use the head .

Best galley I've ever seen on a smaller yacht. The catamaran designers, who use about the same amount of space for their galley but usually not as effectively, should take lessons from this.

Thanks Nora! I agree 100%, you could easily prepare any meal onboard that you could make in your own home. I certainly would never think I am standing in a yacht under 50ft if you dropped me in that galley!

@@GarnockReviews Definitely. The only thing that boat is missing for me is one more sleeping cabin... I've got too many children for a 47, even a well-designed one. But when I get my own boat built, which is the plan, I'm going to remember that galley and make mine very similar.

It's so ugly somehow but it's such a great boat inside. The cabin up is great. I'd probably go with this over any other up to 55' yacht. Thanks for the comparison and showing the differences. A Nordhaven 55 with 2 engines costs 2 times as much. Just put a bed into the utility room and you have 3 cabins 3 heads, same range and a great boat for the price.

At first glance as you walk the pontoons, she might not have the same stylish design as others. However, once you spend time onboard inside and out, I doubt you could find a boat as practical or as spacious for the same size. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it 🤠

That was a unique layout, a big galley, the salon was placed curiously, but I loved the pilothouse. How low would it ride in the water, and how well would that handle bad weather?
@GarnockReviews3 жыл бұрын
I've been fortunate to have been on many boats over the years, and I can't think of a layout like it. If you are looking for liveaboard or extended cruising, I doubt you could find better accommodation. As to the weather, I had the same thoughts the first time I saw a Great Harbour. They looked top heavy and pictured them rolling at the first wave. Now though, I would go anywhere in these boats. From the deck up is all lightweight core construction. All the engines, generators, tanks etc sit low. It keeps the center of gravity where you want it and they sail well because of it.
@stevefaure4153 жыл бұрын
Very unusual boat. It has a suburban tract home kind of feel to the layout. Not in a bad way though

Nice looking boat. Now you're in my former neck of the woods. Lived in Sarasota Bradenton area since '86 until I moved to the mountains of Carolina in '11. Did you make it by Gordon Ramsay's in Orlando last week? Are you going to have any more reviews for the Sarasota area?
@GarnockReviews3 жыл бұрын
It's a nice part of Florida for sure, but pretty far for me based in Jacksonville. Never say never though as I've now got a GH37 in Bradenton and a GH47 in Longboat Key already. Didn't make Gordon Ramsay as the plan was for my wife and I to put the pups in boarding and take the trip together. Unfortunately the pups didn't have the shots they needed for boarding so my wife stayed home with the dogs and I went alone. Didn't feel right going without her, so we will have to plan another trip soon.

It appears to have an extreme mold problem in lower storage area. You stated these areas are great for extra supplies for long range trips. I wouldn’t use any area with mold issues. Mold spreads so if not fixed right away it will get to your food supplies. I have friends who can speak of nightmare issues and sickness that lasted for months. Check it out carefully. Can be costly to get fixed.
@GarnockReviews3 жыл бұрын
Hey Larry, thanks for watching. I agree mold is not something you want to be dealing with on a boat. I never noticed any major signs of it on this boat when I was onboard. This one is now sold and I am not aware of any major issues being found on the sea trial or survey. I think it helps when people use the boat for extended periods of time, rather than leaving the boat unattended. Even if the boat was brand new, I would still recommend putting food and other belongings in some sort of storage container. That way if anything gets into the hold be it mold, water, dirt, etc then it would not contaminate whatever is being stored.

I absolutely LOVE the space in this 47! I was first interested because it has only 4 cylinder engines and is therefore much less expensive to operate and maintain but have since fallen for the layout and room. I do have a big concern and that is the size...this boat looks like a giant floating shoebox and I worry that it would be a terrible handful in the wind. Is there anyone here that can tell me it is or is not?
@GarnockReviews3 жыл бұрын
Rusty, thanks for taking the time to watch my video and to leave a comment. I admit, when I first saw the GH47 that was my concern too. However, if you jump on Facebook and look for groups doing the Great Loop, you will see the Great Harbour line everywhere! They love them! That also includes being able to be handled in tight lock gates with other boats around. The twin engine design improves maneuverability and although she has the aerodynamics of a brick, she has so much weight that it helps keep her in place better. Most of them also have bow thrusters and some have stern thrusters for that extra push. Thanks again!

This is actually kind of a nice boat, but it just shows so badly...the vile and dated decor does not do it any favours. A gut job of the fixtures, galley, decorations, etc. and you could turn this into a decent looking gentleman's small yacht.
