There is a town in the Philippines where thousands of Amerasians, ie half American-half filipino adults and children live than any other place. Built next door to the former US Naval Base at Subic Bay is the town of Olongapo, renowned in the 1970s and 80s as one of the best Rest and Recuperation hotspots in the whole of Asia. Each year millions of United States Military personnel would stream down the gangway of these mighty war ships fighting in the Vietnam War, giving U.S service personnel a well deserved break from the horrors of war. One of the children fathered by a U.S. sailor is a woman called Jennifer Jeanne Leroy. She contacted The Leah and Blair Slog in the hope we may be able to trace her former US Military Father, Mr Robert (Bob) Glenn Leroy, now 79 years old. She has not seen him since she was 2 years old. This is her emotional story of despair, suffering at the hands of her abusive mother and being sold for just $9 dollars to another family. In this highly charged emotional interview Jennifer recounts those sad days and tells of her strong will and determination that one day she might be reunited with her American father.

How can anyone tell someone else to stop looking for who they are, fill the hole in their hearts, and to fill their spirit? If you don't know how someone else is feeling then you need not speak. Unless you live in the shoes of those that are hurting then you have no opinion on what they should do. Thank you for your kindness and good hearts to help these forgotten souls.

This is heartbreaking because I can relate, it's almost the same story as mine. I'm also an Amerisian but never found my father or never knew who he was, I'm glad to escape the Philippines and live in the U.S. With my husband and 2 children. I hope she finds peace.

I’ve found connected family. Her father lived in Redmond Washington at some point. Her Grandmother was Jeanne A. Leroy born July 14th 1924 and passed away March 14th 2011. From her obit she was processed in death by her husband John. Survived by her children Robert LeRoy of Redmond, WA. Susan Dawlearn of Wallis Texas, Sandra Parcher and son in law Doug of Las Vegas NV, Linda Perry and son in law David of Marysville WA. 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

same story but different version... I'm also adopted. so selfish thinking about my hardships but they're another worst case than me... I didn't meet my father until I was 12. Though, my life wasn't as rough as their's, I understand the feeling they have of just wanting to know the pieces that make you, YOU! I hope every person on your channel get answers, even if it's not what they expect. Not knowing is much worse

Love what you guys do. My situation is a little different. My ex wife was in the Air Force at Clark and adopted my eldest daughter from a hospital in Angeles City back in 1986. My current asawa and I went back to Angeles City Pampanga to try and find some Info on where her birth mother might be. The hospital said they only kept paper copies back then and when Mt Pinatubo erupted, it destroyed all evidence of where the birth mother (Isabel Abaya) might be. We're not giving up. We'll keep searching.

So sad and heart breaking ,it a very memiler story in php - poor children born without wedlock even though they hipe they are a Christian country ,then the children are abundend, sold,given away like animals n this tradition haven't changed till this day.

For those that think it's always the service member not wanting the child, this is an important case to watch. How I interpreted this story? This woman's mother likely wanted a life changing amount of money, when she didn't get it, the child had no use and was basically given away to try again. You may ask yourself why the father did not just take the child....You have very little rights, as the father, towards a child out of wedlock in the Philippines....Even if you are on the birth certificate. I believe this changes when the child is 7...
