Getting ready to part with my closest 60 acres this year (3 hours one way - so I get it). Who knows what's next? It's always an adventure.

Good luck with the land hunt and till that puzzle is solved maybe you can obtain like a short term hunting lease on some property?

There’s a few small pieces of public land around I can hunt on.

Good luck finding a new property. We bought a property 1 hour away from my house and I am very grateful to God that it is not any further because we can go there on a whim and work on it. Close is worth the money if you have it.

I've come to realize that the more stuff we gather up just creates more work and less time to spend with Our God and our family. It's all in God's hands. Peace be with you brother ✌️

Those who think it's more virtuous not to hunt for trophies haven't thought things through. Trophy hunting makes the most sense from every angle. Those who anthropomorphize animals should be happy that the animal lived to a ripe old age before being taken and those who are more practical science-based should be happy that the best animals were allowed to reproduce for many years before being taken. In addition, we should all be happy about the relatively humane ending that a trophy hunter provides to an animal that might otherwise die a miserable death due to arthritis, the elements and predators. Nature can be very harsh to old animals.

I’m more of a Quality Deer Management as opposed to trophy hunter, and I think it’s the way to go. I’ve worked as a professional guide for many years and many of those trophy hunters cared less about the deer population or management. They just wanted to shoot a “trophy” to brag about to others. They don’t even know the first steps about deer herd management or habitat management, so I will respectfully disagree with you.

@@seansoutdoors I think you may have missed my point. I too was a guide (over 20 years ago) so I've run into all kinds of people who called themselves hunters but really weren't so I don't disagree with you about the shortcomings of many people, and not just trophy hunters. I'm simply addressing the crowd that really hates all hunters regardless of their individual character. You're focused on bad examples of hunters while I'm pointing out how illogical it is from an "animal rights" activist's perspective to prefer the killing of antlerless animals. It also should be noted that most successful trophy hunters probably have more in common with you than the bad apples who do it just for bragging purposes. Big bucks offer exactly the kind of challenge that plenty of REAL hunters enjoy and you know that. Anyway, I'm a longtime subscriber to your channel and wish you the best.

How much did you get for it? I am looking for 10-20 acres and would like to see what things are selling for.
@seansoutdoors2 ай бұрын
It is hard to find 10 acres for under 100k anymore in that area of Iowa.
@kidneystones34062 ай бұрын
Why don't you just hunt public land in Iowa? I am from Wisconsin, and another hunter told me the public land in Iowa is better than any private land that you could hunt in Wisconsin. God bless you
@seansoutdoors2 ай бұрын
I hunt mostly public land so I’m not sure why you’re asking me that.
