Maybe because I have never shot a buck that big before ha ha ha. I put so many hours of work into that too. Weeks taking apart a shed to get wood to build the shooting house, then building the shooting house, then planting the food plot, putting in fencing, etc. driving back and forth and back and forth, spending hundreds of dollars just in gas on top of all the other expenses. It was a LOT, so I let it rip when I finally scored on a good one.

We have 4 children. I'd keep that property for your kids. Good to have tangible assests too. We have 27 acre camp along a river with a one acre foodplot. We get 3 to 10 deer a day on our plot. Our kids love seeing deer and exploring and launching the skiff to fish. If you don't need the money, definitely worth keeping that arrow in your quiver! And maybe do a HipCamp RV listing to make a lil money off it too or lease it to the hunter for ease of maintenance

I had a really nice 3 year old 10 at 15 yards for 10 minutes this year. I just could not make myself shoot him. Due to the shoulder mount situation as well here. I never saw a deer the rest of the season. Haha. I’m at peace with that too. Things change as we grow older and wiser. Mainly the primary focus on our family. Nice buck and congrats Sean.

I have a question. I have 15 acres i can hunt that my 2 acres boarders. I have bucks coming through like crazy in late summer. Once it hit about mid September its nothing but does. Im in north Georgia. Any tips on keeping the bucks around my area?

That is the time of year that the bucks group up and do pre-rut sparring and dominance order establishment. If you have doe in the area then they should come back during the rut. However, if you want to try to keep them around, maybe make a ton of mock scrapes and mock rubs in the area at the beginning of September to encourage them to do some of that activity in your neck of the woods. I made a video this year on how to make mock rubs and scrapes that you could check out. I posted it not long ago.
