What I like is the dual sliding doors, one on each side of the van. Most vans today have this feature standard. But back in the 80s and 90s, even earlier than that, most vans used only one sliding door for entry/exit, and that was usually on the passenger side of the van. I've never understood why only one side had the sliding door. From a safety standpoint, it seems to make perfect sense. If, for some reason, you take a turn too fast, and you tip over, you need a means of escape. If the passenger door is blocked, and you need to escape, you need to be able to escape out the driver's side, and vice versa.

Downunda, Mitsubishi was the first. The add had a Jack Russel Jumping into a Mits, running and jumping into the next van until it ran into a van that didn't have 2 sliding doors and there was a DONG like it'd run itnto a van without dual sliding doors. Felt sorry for Jack R

As I grow older, my fondness of the Toyota HiAce grows even more. I am restoring ours, an 1999 LH112RBMRS van that we bought in 2005 and has travelled 450,000 Km of which 99,000 were from the previous owner. We've been using it to deliver our printed products in San José, Costa Rica. It is as tough as it can be! Perhaps we will keep it forever!

@@jdmcarandmotorcycle Congratulations! Lots of gear heads and lots of van drivers! My first van was a 1985 VW Bus. It has the 1800 cc and double carburetors engine! It was a blast to drive a rear engined vehicle!
