Old school chainmaille maker here! I totally approve of this method! Great work. I think you can find the acetylene gas at most hardware stores (yellow can) for inexpensive. Great tutorial!

Appreciate the tutorial! Would you please tell me what kind of torch and fuel you’re using?

Hi, we're using an acetylene/air torch. We have a tank of acetylene gas and it pulls in oxygen from the environment.

Do you put the entire chain in the pickle solution? will the pickle solution tarnish the unsoldered parts of the chain?

I don't usually - I just pickle the very end. Pickle won't tarnish any metal, it's used to clean the metal after soldering. You can put the whole chain in the pickle with no issues. You're going to have to polish the soldered part anyways.

We use an acetylene/air torch - one tank of acetylene and it brings in oxygen from the environment. You can use almost any torch for this. If you just have a handheld butane torch that will work too.
