Soldering a PL-259 connector the "proper" way.

It's all about the thermal mass of the soldering iron. Watch closely, and notice how much solder I sink into the holes, and notice how nicely the solder flows, and concave's into the holes real nice.

How hot is 'good and hot' ? I have a hard time soldering these, like most. Even > 600F the solder can not flow, and of course worried about damaging the internals if too much heat.

For decades, people soldered the shield. There were no crimp connectors. If one properly solders them, it's zero issue. There is no single way to do this.

Use the SILVER PLATED connectors. The other ones are TRASH, treat them accordingly.
