Throughout this entire season, soldier boy had only 13 minutes of screentime. I've never been invested in a fictional character by just watching him for such less amount of time. Soldier boy was an antihero. But he was a pure badass and Jensen ackles completely nailed this role.

He never lied while on screen, he kept his word, and he was honest about what he was (least to us the audience in the 13 14 minutes of screen time)

Butcher really disappointed me in the finale. Maeve had the right idea to try to take out homelands at all costs, soldierboy is weaker too. The kid was fine, he could've been rescued by any of the other members there. They could've actually done something. What would be lost for the boys? Vought tower? Not really a loss to the boys. Save Butcher? But he is a tough supe, managing to take hits from homelander and soldierboy. Like Maeve and Kimiko he could've survived a blast, especially if he continued holding homelander and not being at the center of the blast. The civilians were already evacuated, only soldiers like the one Kimiko was killing were still in the tower. Such a dumb plot hole.
@kishaloyb.79372 жыл бұрын
Soldier Boy in Herogasm was arrogant and is the reason why Homelander got the upper hand. But soon after that Soldier Boy realised that he is not the strongest supe out there like 40 years ago. Homelander is the new strongest supe in town and he is capable enough to take him out. This humbled Soldier Boy and made him mentally ready in the final episode of the season, where he was nearly invincible. Without Maeve's rightly timed sacrifice, the boys were pretty much dead.
@Ghost5722 жыл бұрын
The writers fucked that final bit up, they could of easily written something better than the confusing shit we saw. They could of have soilder boy explode knock everyone out and homelander has lost his superpowers for a period of time but can produce compound V naturally or something.
@truepeacefromviolence95812 жыл бұрын
the fact is that no other supe including homelander can take soldierboys blast . his blast burns the v- out of any supes body . maeve survived the blast but she lost her powers ,

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for My All Time Favorite Character In The Boys and My Second Favorite Role for Jensen Ackles. Soldier Boy truly was The Best Part of Season 3 of The Boys and I’m hoping he returns in Season 4 of The Boys.

Soldier Boy wasn't evil in a traditional sense really. He wasn't the hero or the villain...maybe an antihero of sorts but not even really that. Come Season 4 though there is going to be hell to pay I'd imagine. He kept his word and got betrayed in the end. Honestly I think he can kill Homelander all by himself.

I think Soldier boy would have been even better if the show runners had him actually fight in WW 2. Then it would be understandable why he would bully his team. Like have a flashback of him fighting and seeing his allies die in battle so he feels he needs to "toughen up" his team. It would also be a change cause most supes are frauds.
@Crimson19977 Жыл бұрын
There were reasons why he bullied his team. Well, for one it was because he was same control freak like Homelander is. He bullied and slapped gunpowder around because in his own twisted way, he was teaching gunpowder a lesson, something he wished his father had done to him when soldier boy disappointed his father rather than being full on neglectful on sb (I understood this when he talked to butcher in episode 8 about his past) He abused noir because he didn't want anyone to take away the spotlight from him because again, in his own twisted way, it was the only thing that made him something other than a disappointment. This is just explaining his actions briefly, but this is how I intrepented Soldier boy as a character. Of course, I agree that having him fighting in WW 2 would have been cooler, but it would also make him admirable for audience, and I don't think that Kripke wants to portray any of the bad guys in this show like that from what I've seen so far.

I’d say he was quite the bully and egotistical asshole. Definitely someone u don’t want to be close with unless u fit his unrealistic expectations. Maybe slightly evil. But not enough to call evil in of itself

I agree. People kept calling him all sorts of shit like a fascist and a racist but he is just a jughead whose been a soldier all his life and killing people that he was told to kill and thought were the bad guys and then he gets betrayed by his team and wakes up and everythings upside down, different and everyone is betraying him. He is not a villain or a super hero he is a soldier with super powers.

From what I can tell Soldier Boy is definitely a antihero, he has a ton of problems no doubt. Granted this is from what I've heard because I don't have Prime Video, I heard that he is racist, misogynistic, and homophobic. So he's an asshole, yet he's got a good side to him and is willing to protect others. To me he is an antihero, a antihero doesn't have to be likeable they just have to lack the traditional characteristics of a hero.
@sohummohare63642 жыл бұрын
He wasn't really homophobic or racist tho, we didn't see him do anything to support those claims. Misogynistic, yeah
