Soldier of Fortune Battledress - Repro Review

As a young and aspiring reenactor, I bought the first decent repro battledress I could find, which was of course made by SoF. Though as I would later learn, it is not a particularly good repro, and my money could have been more wisely spent on other things. I have yet to get rid of it, so I thought I might as well make a video on it.

WPGCE is the best reproducer of battledress, their quality is superb. Originals you'll just have to keep an eye out on online marketplaces like ebay and others.

The collar liner does fit, it was added to the design before the simplified designs were introduced

No, that was the 1940 pattern, which was identicle to the Battledress serge, but had a lined colar and different buckle.

very cool thom the sof clothes arent the best but i went to one of their matches back in the 90s and it was fun times

Darn, I forgot to mention that! But yes you are right, this is not 100% wool, in addition to being not very high quality wool.

Would you recommend Soldier of Fortune or Epic Militaria for reenactment clothing?

For most reenacting clothes I would not reccommend either of them. Better stuff is available

@@OCGangsta depends on what you're looking for. Like if you want a good battledress then WPGCE is the way to go. And I should add that SOF's webbing is actually pretty useable

What home guard zone are you in like for example HV13 or HV16

Good review. I hope you didn't waste your own money on that poor quality repro BD? Some of that Pakistani BD serge not only has the specs of white stuff but also some pink stuff. Absolute garbage.

Sadly I did spend my own money on this, a few years ago when I didn't know any better, and I thought I'd make a video on it before I get rid of it.
