This is the second time I've posted this. The first time, it muted some of my reactions. I apologize for the digital green screen. It looks kinda bad, but I'll get better. Who do you think owns the blame in this botched mission? Do you think this mission was still a success?

This went through a Senate hearing, and there were only 3 top players to blame. The plan wasn't good, to begin with. This is not a video game for them to not have backup plans.

it can be said that the commander in chief had a lot of responsibility during that time. the duration of the backup. and another one is that the majority of those in the saf are Ilocano trives where the president is angry because his father was killed because of politics that until now it is not known who killed after the mission, the president will say in front of the saf that we are fair. Aquino administration at the time is to blame my father is a scout ranger (musang) so I was disappointed with the aquino admin at that time

Who's to blame for what happened to 55th SAC ? Of course who else, its the command and their incompetency by way of executing the mission and response. Im pinoy and this is a shame. This not the first time though there are a lot of failed mission due to issues with higher command. Thanks a lot for your review and comments, it really shows the obvious and facts. Salute to you sir 🫡

I'm so frustrated with how the higher ups were so consumed by greed and corruption, they were willing to sacrifice lives. I heard the commandos on standby were asking to advance and help their comrades, but were repeatedly told to stay in place.

this was truely a heartbreaking event. SAF were given a task, they did it without maybe questioning the plans. I just can't with the remaining 200+ commandos on the highway when they perfectly know their buddies are in a terrible position. There was no command on what to do? Idk, I guess they weren't experienced. I also dk why the army is not involved in the initial plan. The army people who extracted the seaborn told later on the SAF weren't themselves anymore when they found them. Imagine the trauma of this, and the lone survivor later on said first thing he did when he got out from the hospital was to visit his buddies' families so he could tell what he needed to tell about their family. 😢 I hope all involved find peace.

There was inside info why the army infantry and artillery and airforce and other military units were not informed because the politicians wanted to keep it quiet due to the reward $. Greediness killed these brave police officers. It was a rush job and you know what they say " Haste makes Waste ". In this case, they wasted the lives of 44 commandos.

But sorry for the Saf44 It's too late for the reinforcement. The Plan are Also mistake, Firstly thry need to inform the MILF that they will have an operation on That unknown Territory so That would the MILF won't shoot them.

hey sir did you know that the 2 famous supreme commanders of allied forces in world war 2 came from phillipines before the war started and these two supreme commanders remained victorious and so famous that they ended world war 2 and the only 5 stars general and general of the army at that time. and these are general Douglas macarthur during conquest against Japan imperialism and general Eisenhower against Nazi Germany and these 2 generals became friends of Manuel Quezon before departed their ways when the war broke out in 1939.

There's no casualties in seaborne until the afternoon when the enemies starts firing mortars and the biff firing at them They lasted to those areas because one of the survivor of them said they were only firing shots when they accurately know the position of enemy to avoid exposing their own position and spamming ammunition.

5:34 Yep, it's enemy territory. Home to 3 different rebel groups (which are relatives and frenemies) and slightly close to some military bases. Not contacting the military was a double edged sword. They succeeded with the objective by not leaking info but almost no one survived. Those 2 survivors went through a LOT of fighting and evasion.

@@jointbasepodcast PH is divided into 3 Island Groups (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao). Mindanao has never been fully conquered by the old Spaniards, the Japanese in WW2, and other foreign forces. They are basically a nation of their own (culturally, religiously, and linguistically) and various armed groups want that to be official. As for your first sentence, the key term is "relatives" spread across millions of hectares of land in several different countries. Kill 10 and you gain 100 new enemies. It's unending since 1521.

I agree on your comment on the ceasefire in Afghanistan and the PH. You’re dealing with the Taliban who can never be trusted. Taliban will only partner whoever is powerful. Once weakened they’ll deal with another group. They partnered with BL/AQ. When BL power diminished they made partner with ISIS. To me the right people to deal were the son of Massoud and their Tajiks tribes, biggest tribes among many.

In 7:05, you talked about personal experiences and how, because of them you didn't believe in the effectiveness of ceasefires. Though they are insightful, you are forgetting one crucial difference between your experiences with ceasefire agreements and the ceasefire agreements with the government and MILF, and that is the US and Afghanistan are foreign countries, with different people, whilst the government and MILF both largely consist of Filipino People. If the government does not engage with peace talks with the MILF, then they would have to hunt them down, which they don't want to do as that would mean they would have to hunt down their own countrymen despite them being terrorists. Philippine history has a very sordid and tragic history of Filipinos betraying and killing fellow Filipinos. So much so that General Luna, whilst fighting against the Americans during the Philippine-American war famously said that, to which when translated is "The only enemy greater than the Americans, is ourselves." Which is why, as a means of righting the mistake of the past, as well as other factors, the government wanted to be diplomatic with the MILF.

What hurts the most is the disregard of human life the administration of Noynoy Aquino at that time. He said to the families of the dead, and I quote "What can we do? They are all dead anyway." In tagalog, "Ano pa magagawa natin, eh patay na?" Then at the SAF 44 funeral you will see all over the news that he is laughing at the funerals like it was some joke. Thankfully their incompetence did not continue, and their whole political party collapsed and even now they are irrelevant.

Sending saf was a mistake in the first place. They should have sent the Light reaction regiment, Navsog , marsog or scout rangers. Why send saf commandos? Yeah they're freakin good but they excel in urban warfare more than in jungle. It would only require a platoon or two from scout rangers to kill Marwan. Why send 400 troops smh

But one is for sure, it was a mission tasked to the SAF because government knows they are capable. These guys are special unit... true enough, they killed one of the 2 target. The sad part is the escape plan, wherein it didn't go well.
