This is really a ground breaking use of a drone. He said "you even begin to look at your rifle differently" meaning he was afraid he was going to be captured or bleed out, and considered shooting himself. The drone dropping medicine and water and a note stopped him from dying. He knew at that point that help was coming. Without the drone he wouldn't have known until they got there, and they might not even have found him.

Sadly, this is a rare case in this brutal war. Drones of this type are used to kill wounded on the battlefield by dropping modified grenades. This is one happy story but there are hundreds of videos of Drones killing wounded, including combat medics online.

@@clmBerserker The soldier is missing one small aspect of the whole hostage-taking thing. If the ZSU takes POWs and doesn't kill them, and then exchanges them, those POWs might start talking. Tell their comrades how they were treated by the Ukrainians. And if they were treated good, then morale on the Russian side will plummet even more -if your enemy is treating you better than your own commanding officers, then why are you even fighting?

Should be feasible to make an IFF system for this type of situation. Push a button on some IR device that blinks a code. If the drone is friendly a light on the bottom briefly blinks back at you. If it doesn't, then you should make an effort to bug out of there. Codes and response blink pattern should be able to be changed up as needed, to help deal with any spoofing.
@utrock50679 ай бұрын
Especially as drone could drop an explosive. Also in all past wars deistinguishing enemy from ally was a tough task.
@CybershamanX9 ай бұрын
I hear ya. It's going to open up a new "spy vs spy"-esque level of warfare. Spoof vs Counterspoof. We'll see how things go. The way things are going, we're moving closer and closer to bots fighting bots. Which, while it's good to prevent the deaths of people (i.e. soldiers), it also desensitizes/sanitizes warfare. In a way, warfare is such an outdated concept, if you really think about it. If you have to resort to killing other people in todays hyper-connected world, you have to somehow convince your populace that they have to send the best of their youthful citizens out to commit murder and be killed. It's that viceral context that helps mitigate wars. But if it's only a matter of pitting bots versus bots, which are made by manufacturers who LOVE having to make more bots for you in exchange for money, well, then... I don't know. We're headed toward an "interesting" phase of humanity. Interesting in the sense of the old Chinese curse of "may you have an interesting life." Just something to think about. 😉😎☮

It is pathetic how Russians pretend they are “fighting the west”. Russia attacked Ukraine in 2014 and attacked it again in 2022 because they thought the smaller country had no friends. Is Japan “west”? Is Turkey “west”? Face it, Russia has done evil. And many countries are sick of its colonial mentality. Now even telling Poland that it owns part of Poland!

What god are you referring to? Satan? Because the God of Adam, Noah, Moses and the 12 apostles does not bless people who practice witchcraft and who break their treaties with their neighbor nations. Witchcraft is all over Ukraine, and that entire region of the world. Meanwhile, Russians are orthodox Christians. If you're a Christian, that's interesting. CNN has brainwashed Christians into praying for a country that practices witchcraft that started a war with a country that practices CHRISTIANITY. "They will kill you in God's name thinking they're doing God a service" ~ GOD _.... (A description of Christians killing other Christians in the name of GOD. We are truly the people the prophets said would be in the latter days.)_ ..

What I love about this is the accuracy and the usage of drones, sure they are used to damage regardless which side you are on. However they are also use to heal as well, like in this story. Had it not of been for the drone operator his life would be a different story. Very suprised on how the tide of usage of drones have changed.....
