Thank you for honoring this soldier. Sadly, I’m sure most of his loved ones who remembered him are gone, but at least he gets the burial he deserves. 25-30 years old - he never got a chance to fully live. Tragic.

These are very interesting videos. There must be tens of millions of items still buried in the fields, forests and swaps of Russia and Eastern Europe. These videos speak to how easy it was to get killed in WW2. A random shell lands nearby, you get face full of shrapnel and it's over. These videos also speak to the scale, intensity and chaos of the fighting in WW2. The way that you find such a random assortments of both sides kit in one hole, and random parts of vehicles and soldiers wearing the other sides equipment.

One reason is americans lost 450,000 soldiers in both Europe and the Pacific theatres and between the Russians and Germans they lost 8.7 million and 5.6 million soldiers.

I believe in watching these guys and the guys who do the digging on eastern and the western fronts pay an honorable service to those who died a terrible death. I know this part is a fantasy but if politicians and people that rule over various countries had to come to these killing fields and help recover the dead and see first hand the horrors of war maybe just maybe they might rethink what they are doing

I previously said it’s like everything was dumped into the nearest trench or shell hole and covered up. Maybe, maybe not- another factor as to what is dumped or brushed under the carpet and what was legitimately buried during actual fighting is how many times did the fighting pass over a burial sight. I’m also thinking how does the treatment of one’s remains effect the character (I hate the term psyche) of one’s next iteration?

Ive always wanted a German Helmet..i used to have a WW2 K-Bar Trench Knife 🗡️ and 5 Bayonets like new but hard times i had to sell . Also a very old very good shape Marine sword..same i sold it to a Museum..all ripped me of . 75 ech. For Bayonets , 40 K-Bar , 125 Marine sword. Makes me Sick to think about all the stuff ive had over the years and had to sell... Uhh
