Nick Ariondo composed 'Solemnus' and arranged J.S. Bach's 'Praeludium No.2 in C minor' for solo accordion, bridging the two pieces together. The slow introductory section of 'Solemnus' sets a slow solemn mood, gradually tranforming into the familiar Praeludium No.2, a virtuosic display of dexterity between left and right hands. Harmonic content and musical style remain continuous throughout as the two pieces are joined together in one complete movement..... J.S. Bach's 'Praeludium No.2 in C minor' is part of a large collection of 24 preludes & fugues composed between 1722-1744 titled 'The Well- Tempered Clavier', Books 1 & 2.....a masterful collection of difficult and challenging works. Performed on a variety of keyboard instruments from piano, organ and harpsichord as well as this rendition for solo accordion, Bach's music lends itself quite nicely to a wide selection of orchestral combinations. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685--1750) was one of the most prolific composers of the Baroque period (roughly 1600-1750) alongside great masters Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel and others....See Nick Ariondo's KZbin video of Antonio Vivaldi's 'Concerto in Re' • Vivaldi:Concerto in D ...
