I absolutely agree with Zee on this game. It is simple, but super interesting. Elegant is the perfect word for it. And it looks stunning, if you ask me. I tried and bought it at Essen. It was quite high on my list, but i wasn't expecting it to be like this. I thought the cards with holes and the tile flipping looked a bit gimmicky at first, but that changed radically after playing a few rounds. The holes make perfect sense and its just nice to see the board filling up with the cards, but not having to look under the them, when you want to see what was there. But the flipping day/night cycle thing is the best for me. You can think of great tactics, but you never know, when players move the airship forward. At least not in the early game. Later you can work it out, because every player has the same cards, so you might be able to know, which cards everyone has left. And that is just the easy side of the board, i haven't even tried the "advanced" game yet. This is most definitely a great game.

I bought this game last weekend, played it three times, and loved it! Glad to see it gets a plus in your book as well!

Hi Zee! If I had the game explained correctly at Spiel, you can also place your card on the space under the zeppelin, not just adjacent, which means you could have played your card on the city directly under the zeppelin to complete the contract and saved a resource! It was a super easy rule to forget about, though! Otherwise, the game is super smooth - great review!

I think this is the fastest I've ever seen Zee go through his TARGET at the end. Clearly, he likes it so now I'm excited too. I'm going to check this one out. I'm interested in the solo play. I wonder what Mike or Liz would have to say. Thanks, Zee!

Pearl Games is definitely in my top 3 publishers if not number 1. Both Deus and Otys were fantastic games and solenia is just as good.

Instant buy at Essen, great game! Happy to see it appreciated by you as well.

Question! You said the tiles at the end change up the board a bit, how exactly does that work? As in, how does it increase replayability and variety?

I love this game too I wanted to buy it right away at Essen but it was already sold out so now I'm waiting for it to be delivered.

Looks beautiful, but too bad they didn't go with more thematic resources.

Even though i like the card mechanism of Deus it's a game with so many flaws. I can't enjoy the Deus any more and I wonder why the others don't see the flaws we definitely experience. But Pearl Games is a great publisher. I especially love the older games like Troyes with expansion, Tournay, Ginkgopolis. Otys was a little too solitair puzzeling for me. So I hope Solemnia is something for me an my son to play and another hit for Pearl.

Well, you would expect more from the author of "Troyes"... This one looks like yet another "whatever" game.

Troyes is the best game
@PandaOfElastic6 жыл бұрын
@ni ko : What does that have to do with this game? Do you just go to random reviews and comment this so people are aware that Troyes is better than the game being reviewed? Honestly curious.
@benlauson5556 жыл бұрын
@@PandaOfElasticNo I don't... Perhaps I should though. I definitely thought there was enough correlation in my original comment with the content being presented in the video that it would relate nicely with anyone who has any sort of experience in this hobby. Are you this passive aggressive with people you interact with in person? Although I may be misunderstanding your intent.
@PandaOfElastic6 жыл бұрын
@@benlauson555 I'm not sure if this really would qualify as "passive aggressive" since I was directly calling you out, but as I said, I was actually curious about the intention of your comment. What similarities do you see between this game and Troyes? Because I'm honestly having a hard time coming up with even one similarity.
@benlauson5556 жыл бұрын
@@PandaOfElastic My question was rhetorical. Sorry, I should have made that more obvious. "Calling me out" I'm not some jerky board game enthusiast troll who tries to get the big comment count on innocent unsuspecting boardgame channels. What are you calling me out on? As far as I'm concerned you don't understand my comment's correlation and thus conclude by your limited power of process of elimination that I'm out to lunch? Troyes is designed by Sebastien Dujardin who also help create Pearl Games. Zee was mentioning games designed by this guy, namely one his favorites, which was Deus. I was merely adding his most triumphed achievement. It was intentionally vague - again, I'm confident any enthusiast of the hobby would have seen the correlation.
@PandaOfElastic6 жыл бұрын
@@benlauson555 Dude, you're taking this way too personally. You left a vague comment saying that another game with no similar mechanics is the best. They are from the same designer. That's all you had to say.
