Quite interesting - and you did a great ob comparing the two versions with each other. However, for somewhat accurate total numbers, I think you picked a really bad time - I couldn’t think of ever having a raid start that early because it’d be quite hard to even just barely make it home from work in time. You should’ve added another scan at around 7:45pm, possibly a third one at 8:30pm - and checked different days of the week.

So I have a question, does your Census Addon also scan for levels 61-70? It's really slowing down the scans for me, I was wondering if there was a way to edit it so it's only 1-60. Thanks for anyone who gives me an answer, I can't find one anywhere :)

A scan on gehennas at the same time was 8.4K people. I think pyrewood village is quite a small pop compared firemaw and Gehennas respectively

Pyrewood is way smaller, just check wcl on progress and there are a lot more groups full clearing, if we assume skill spread is even there are more than 2x more players on bigger pvp realms than pve

as a US west player, I’m thinking of getting back into WoW to bounce between Retail and a classic server. Would you recommend Wrath or Classic Era? I do prefer blood elf, but i care more about having actual players around and about while leveling. I know i’m pretty late to the party since Wrath came out some time ago 😢

I’m curious why you chose such a low population wrath server vs the most populated vanilla server where everyone is beneath level 20. I just used this thing for a scan on pagle and it has 6000 ppl online at 6:45pm Monday night.

I really hope that if they come out with a season of mastery 2, it doesn’t destroy classic Era because right now it has been an absolute blast. I know me and my friends are here to stay on classic era during the highs and lows.

It will. Temporarily at least. KZbinrs will play Som2. All the followers will go play it. It'll blow up for a few months and then they'll go find something else. A private server. Classic era again. Whatever.

@@wmcarter6096 most likely it will change a ton of popularity right away and then Samuel day off, but someone stay. I honestly probably won’t play a Season and mastery 2 but who knows I might depending on how much they change it as I really don’t want any changes at all as I believe the game is perfect how it is. However, if they do a fresh classic era that will be a very tough decision.

@@volixian idk man era is so much fun rn that me and my friends made new characters and we’re creating our own fresh experience where we’re not going to let others that are geared carry us. It’s been an absolute blast, and feels like fresh to us. Even the auction house has reasonable prices like it’s a fresh experience.

Oh and here, Classic is not so much a thing except the HC community... Wotlk is doing well (though there has been some server consolidation again due to the mega server/single faction thing)... I only play on Wotlk and have done so since the Wotlk servers were the original Classic servers at launch several years ago. No interest in retail on my part or in handing Bliz more than a monthly subscription, they still have not learned their lessons.

you only scann faction wide. Hrydraxion Waterlords have atleast as many horde players. Also Gehennas and Firemaw is more populair than Pyrewood.

Oh so many assumptions.... I'm sorry but your experiences do not match mine on NA servers. EU servers are a very different animal than here in the USA. No one in the USA is raiding at 6pm at night.... raiding doesn't start until 7 pm server time on most servers... and in some cases not until 9pm on a weeknight. People here commute a lot more for their jobs than in the EU and people work more than 8 hour jobs.... And well the number of folks leveling new characters on Wotlk rather than maximum... I don't know anyone in the guilds I am in that don't have one or more lower than max characters that they play... assuming low level = bot is crazy.... Bots are either at Boost point level or at max level in general and nowhere in between unless they are an AH/Trademaster bot that is never in the open world but sits in a city (in which case they are often level 1-10.

Wrath Classic is better. It has all the benefits of Vanilla with the improvements from Wrath and even has some slight changes added from the benefit of hindsight.

Makes absolute sense. People that chose to play on a PvE server, do that for a reason. When comparing servers, you have to concider server types. I compared a PvE server against a PvE server.

@SolheimGaming Why would someone who does only pve not choose a pvp wrath server when they are quite higher pop and the only difference is the choice to PvP alongside everything else. Classic's world PvP was quite more punishing than now in wrath so people would opt out of it but now there's not much of a point to do that

@@SolheimGaming it makes no sense to compare the pve servers from classic and wrath. Everyone in wrath is on PvP servers and no one avoided a server labeled pvp because they’re all basically pve servers. Check them. Benediction is all alliance. Faerilina is all horde. Both are always packed day and night. Both are basically pve servers because of the imbalance. No world pvp ever happens and you don’t have to worry about it. Knowing that even a pve player like myself has zero issues signing in to be where the player base is strongest and economy is good.

Wrath classic in dragon flight I won't touch And casual friendly ? I wouldn't consider a game that takes forever to get anywhere or any character progression whatsoever casual friendly. And SoM I mean the whole point of So M is to be classic plus not classic fresh so how do you know they won't make changes ? On top of that You're judging on one server each And like it or not Ralph is more casual friendly it's easier to jump in and easier to get to cap to start the end game content. Especially because of hirlooms For leveling Is there an audience for it classic vanilla sure But I don't think that audience is bigger than wrath Or a dragon flight for that matter.

Tbh this video is very weighted towards era. Wotlk servers have no real pvp servers, most people are on 99% single faction pvp. Pyrewood has less than half the players of a real wotlk pvp server

No it's not. When comparing servers across games, you have to compare server types. In this case, I compare Pve vs Pve. If you compare PvE vs PvP you suddenly have to bring up a lot more factors like world pvp, why people chose pvp or pve, etc. By comparing the same server type, you eliminate all external factors and boil it down to which game people enjoy the most for that server type's experience. A similar comparison could be done for Firemaw Vanilla vs Firemaw WOTLK, I just chose the PvE aspect as that is the server type my channel has ALWAYS been centered around. I even brought up my reasoning for this in the video, and mentioned that you would see completely different numbers on a server like Gehennas. If you dont like it thats fine,but claiming its a terrible comparison makes it sound like you're a Gehennas-baby with a very biased opinion, in my opinion. Especially when you say "terrible comparison" without explaining that statement further.
