I finished this lesson much faster than the last. Less fumbling on my part. Great instructions and very easy to follow. Just want to highlight one attribute; at 7:28 of your instructions, the width of the extrusion was correctly entered as 40mm but you accidentally said five zero instead.

This one taught me a lesson! If you do not "restore" the forward area sketch, you can't create the 100 degree Arc offset. I'm curious. How many years have you studied CAD? When does it become easy?

13:06 I was able till here. Then when the curve closes, the inner space doesn't become azure. I checked if ever the sketch was not contiguous, but it is. I have remade it several times checking tat all the points are identical to your ones, and they are. I'm struggling to finish this piece.

Thank you for reaching out. If you are still having a problem finishing the part, please feel free to either zoom or meet with me, and we will be able to work it out. Wishing you all the best.

@@drmseif I was able to correct it and I had to act in a different way. When the first shape is made (rectangular + the curved upright stuff), Instead of to extrude, I immediately drew the curve with radius 100. Then I go the azure. From that moment on, I could proceed further, by extruding the first piece to 100 and the second to 40. Only then I trimmed what i didn't need and I 've made the offset as you suggested, and everything went smooth and fine. Please consider this is just my second draw with Solid Edge. So I'm discovering the tool step-by-step and sometimes: with slaps on my face 😉😉

Does Solid Edge has Extrude face up to another face height. So far I could not find it. Most of the cad programs have that.

I founded but is kind of hidden. I don't like it that you need so many steps to do this.
@drmseif
@drmseif Жыл бұрын
Actually, this extra step allows you doing more 4 features. At the same time the default is face to face. Thanks and wishing you the best.

@@drmseif I tried SpaceClaim and tell you that I like Spaceclaim better. There is some stuff that should be re-disign but is much easier to work with. And why you have to lock the space that you working with. All programs know that you want to work on it just by selecting it. i will try a little longer maybe i can get use to it.

Hi, how do I create a construction line?
@drmseif
@drmseif Жыл бұрын
Among the draw commands (line, circle, etc.), there are two commands "construction" and "create as construction" that will do the job. Both are self explanatory and if you are having a dificulty let me know and I will be more than happy to explain. Good luck.

Why when I export or save as .stl file to prusa or cura does they object appear tiny and needs to be scaled up by 2540% before it appears the correct size. Also the no of facets is very small so the curves look like 12 sided objects. New to all this 3d design so probably something Im not doing.
@JBCool0729
@JBCool0729 Жыл бұрын
You have to be sure that is save in Inch or mm. Plus be sure is selected as fine. This you can find in save as stl "Options" before save button. Prusa or Cura usually works with mm.
