Honestly, it was much harder than I expected. I was using a flat head screwdriver amongst other things. I am a boxer, drummer, and a pizza man by trade. I have very strong hands, wrists, and forearms and it was a job and a half for sure.

Soak the new tire in hot water for 10 minutes. This makes the tire stretch more easily over the rim of the wheel. A lot less grunt is needed then. 🙂

Thank you for the video. I did as in the video with zip ties. I used many zip ties for every section that I was able to put on the wheels. It make the job more easy

Thanks, the tire wraps were the key. Flat screwdriver did the rest. The last piece wouldn’t sit well but some big pliers solved that.

Thanks a lot for this great idea ! I use a big flat screwdriver and need approx 6 cable ties each side ....step by step one tie after the other...as the tire was a bit strong. But its very easy. 10 min and its done.

Excellent job. I just need to find a pry bar like the one you used instead of the screwdriver that I've been using maybe then I will be successful. I even put the tire in a hot bubble bath.

How would you remove an old solid tire?

You can lever the old one off or some people just cut them off if they are completely worn out. It is a real struggle to get the new ones in but it can be done with strong hands, a strong lever and belief.

I use a saw and cut the old tire until the rim. Then I take a screwdriver and drill a bit. On the bottom I found small ropes...may be a old tire.... I use a sidecut to remove them. So the old tire is removed very easy.

Una forma más fácil de colocar la llanta sin necesidad de herramientas, es dejar las llantas a l sol, para que el material se agua de y se metan más fácil a la rueda, así las colocó muy fácil mi hermano, con su pura fuerza, otra idea que nos dió la persona que nos vendió las llantas era ponerlas en agua hirviendo para que se aguaden y así colocarlas igual, muy fácilmente.

Is it just me - but wouldn't have byen easier to remove the wheel, so that you had it on a table or workbench. I would not be able to chqnge my wheels like that anyway

No. Unless you can mount it to the table. Use of the wheelchair and the wheel brake helps with leverage anchoring the wheel while slipping on the tire. Soaking the new tire in hot water for ten minutes eases the installation- required a lot less grunt since the tire stretches more easily when heated. I am of course speaking from experience. 😅
