My only complaint on technic is how raw my thumbs feel after building bigger sets multiple days in a row. I'm all for Lego sets that use Technics for structural and functional components, and System bricks for aesthetic purposes. This is how I've often built my own things and it never occured to me that anyone would be butthurt about it. Lego bricks are meant to be used together after all.

Even though you said you don't need to watch Dune to enjoy this set, this becomes ten times better when you do. You gave this set high praise and it's totally justifiable but I think personally I would've at least mentioned the elephant in the room which is those red technic pins and maybe that the design is just a bit bulkier than the source material. However, I'm sure there is a reason for the red pins and you can easily replace them with black ones with a small pick a brick order so I'm not too worried about it when I decide to purchase this set.
