This may seem like a weird review for a sound channel but it involves RF and that's one thing sound people understand so that's how we got here. There are many reviews of this product on KZbin talking about comfort and what comes in the case but I concentrate on what others don't, like the technical. This review focuses on factors other reviews don't. I hope you find it helpful.

This is good, SolidCom is on my list. I'd love a video showing how to tie this into a 2-Wire (ClearCom) system.

Absolutely love all of your reviews! I'd love to hear your opinion on the new Easy Rig Boom Rig!

It's interesting. Easyrig isn't interested in sending me one for an extended test and review, only a loaner. I don't do loaner gear anymore because I usually dissect and sometimes tinker or upgrade parts to reach better optimization.

So if cam dept had the same system, you could've linked up your headset and had some fun.

Nice review / overview of this system. Would have loved to have heard the audio quality from the built in mic. i watched the entire video, did I miss an audio test? Or were you planning a future video showing the audio and how loud you can speak if SPL is an issue if being very loud into the mic? Do the headphones get loud? I wouldn't have any need for these in use for my small video projects I do... That hub system certainly appears to be the way to go.

As I said in the beginning, I concentrated on what's not in every other review of this system on KZbin

@@SoundSpeeds i don't listen to other audio reviewers :p. Too much bias, you tell it like it is, and are more in depth especially in that pro realm that makes you unlike anyone else. Nobody else can yell like you. That's why Curtis needed those crazy lungs of yours :)

@@SoundSpeeds it's okay, I'm mostly curious and everyone finds you yelling into the mics very entertaining 😁

Because this is a unique band, how does the sound person get looped in? Do they have an extra headset? Does the director have an extra headset? Also, do you see this as "creep" into the sound person's area?

Sound people don't get looped in unless they get a headset or the base station is connected to a computer

Allen, one word of note, please don’t encourage the camera department to take on the management of the Comms. Here in Los Angeles, 695 is pushing to make Comms as part of the sound department. Comms is communication and that’s the area under 695. Simon Jayes, owner of Cine-Comm Inc. which rents outs the Riedel Bolero Comms system is training 695 members on how to use the system. When production decides to use this particular brand Cine-Comm Inc. Will dispatch out trained 695 members to setup the system and work within the sound department & video assist to manage the system after it’s been deployed and configured. Being a union member yourself, try to encourage that any Comms being used in ATL to be managed by a member of the sound or video assist team. This should allow an additional individual for either sound or video assist. In the words of Simon Jayes, who holds a 600 & a 695 card, believes 100% that Comms are under the jurisdiction of 695. Regardless of who owns the system, if it’s an owner/operator from 600, 695 believes that a 695 member should be managing the Comms system. All the best from the West Coast and keep up the good work.

I agree completely and wish the sound department never gave up running the walkies. They are constantly intermodulating with our wireless frequencies because the scans are quick and often miss when someone is transmitting on a walkie. They would also make a nice rental item. If you talk with Simon or can mention it to 695, suggest that the comms system sound/video member be an RF coordinator. In Atlanta we're trying to push for this in the sound department as opposed to the electrics who are also pushing hard for it. We are the Part 74 license holders and don't deal with consumer frequencies ranges like they do and being a Comms manager would naturally fall into the purview of such a position. The RF Coordinator would do everything from coordinating the WiFi for optimization to making sure that other stages don't interfere with our set.

Yeah it makes the most sense for the RF coordinator to be the person who's running the RF. License ham radio operator. Recently went through a state course on how the states emergency communication system works and part of that was getting on a list for a emergency's. They want to have people who have any knowledge at all more than the cousin of the mayor ready and available in case something happens to coordinate Com's. We're talking everything Communications for multi party teams going into a jail for a fire to on seen news crews.

Just today, had a DP ask me for a shoot next week if we could loop in my mix track into the C1 Pro Hub. After looking through the (not very) comprehensive manual, it seems that the PGM input would work, as the pin out is set for an XLRM input, and also has gain controls. My plan is to just plug in a G4 RX hop and control it from my 633 fader as needed. Anything in my plan you see I’m missing or will get potentially tripped up by?

I'm not familiar with the C1 Pro hub so I can't answer that.

I am interested in the same thing. I work on indie films with small crews and it seems like a great way to feed a combination of comms and mix in one headset.
