Just a tip: for us visual learners, especially when it comes to numbers, show them on screen. So when you do calculations, visualize them by having them on screen, step by step. I know it's more work, but a lot of us would love you for it! Apart from that, amazing video! Love your content!

I did not know about the dynamic reduction, I'll just say I think it's a pretty bad mechanic. It may "solve" the problem of melting bosses too quickly, but I think that there are more effective ways t o solve that problem.

@@NoName-mi8js IMO if you have a system in place that directly makes progression meaningless, like this system does. It's just a band-aid solution. I think build progress should scale with difficulty and rewards (loot). Now, I understand that it's not simple; and that I'm probably am not qualified to solve the problem, but I simply can't accept that applying a direct damage reduction because a character is killing too quickly is the best we can do.

I like guides like this because they help people design their own builds, and especially in a game like Last Epoch I think players are likely to hang around longer if they feel empowered to try out various builds for themselves.

I never knew about the dynamic damage reduction from bosses! This makes glass canon builds harder to use while a more defensive and balanced build would fare much better.

Minor point to avoid confusion, I think you meant to say 'Added damage of 50' not 'Base damage of 50', when talking about Added Damage Effectiveness. Skill Base Damage is not affected by damage effectiveness. Base + (Sum of Added)*Effectiveness = your flat damage input into the Increased calculation step.

Damage in this game is bugged if you got hit the training dummy you will see that crit hits are sometimes lower than normal hits in my case ive had my normal hits do 20k more than a crit damage is completely scuffed in this game hope they fix it

Thanks for this. I'm used to D3-D4's "Numbers go up" stat when i hover an item telling me if my damage is going to go up or down. From what I can tell so far LE doesn't have that, so I'm having to think more about my items haha

The dynamic damage scaling is the kind of thing I wish I just never knew about. It makes me instantly apathetic about any build because... who cares. It's just going to be cheesed by scaling in most cases.

on falconeer only the trap shows you an estimated dmg...all other skills dont...so i cant see dmg differences between different weapons and dummy dmg is too flimsy

You can't trust it at all as a metric of "how much damage do I do" you can sometimes trust it in terms of "which item is better" such as if you wanted to compare +3 Melee Void Damage vs 23% increased melee damage.

An example of where not to trust it is with paladin javelin build with the burning trails, the dps in the tooltip does not reflect any of the insane damage caused by this trail

In PoE weapon with flat phys and %phys is obviously better than just flat or just % (considering close lvl bases), in Last Epoch it's big mystery why new cool rare dagger is much worse than garbage magic one you currently wielding, so your video didn't answer on question i was looking answer for

There aren't local modifiers in Last Epoch. So % phys on a weapon is the same as % phys on an amulet.

yeah nothing actually scales off your weapon directly. Your weapon has some base stats like crit and attack speed, but otherwise everything base comes from skills, and all damage modifers affect the base damage of that skill. Not from the weapon. Basically in PoE terms, every skill scales like spells do.

How work nodes that gives you "deal less damage". For exaple Disintagrate skill have Laser Focus node that give you -60% deals less damage. If i have general +260% more damage, is that mean that with Laser Focus node (-60% deals less damage) i can lose only minus 60% from my general more 260% damage and finaly i'll have +200% (260% - 60%) more? Or I lose 60% from 260% (260% * 0.6) and it will be = 104%?

So i'm doing a warpath fire dmg paladin. I made my warpath now scale from fire dmg instead of physical. So now i should just go for +fire on my weapons right? Sorry, i'm super bad at these things

Playing a similar build. Yes to +fire. Warpath will no longer skill with +physical. Also look for damage over time buffs if you're igniting a lot. I ignored damage over time at first and took a noticeable dps loss for it especially when it came to bossing.

so just to clarify, even if the skill has a spell tag (ex. Chthonic Fissure), what you're saying is increase % damage will not affect the damage of the DOT and only the initial hit of the skill is affected?

It would affect spell DoT, but not Ailment DoT (unless the ailment has the "Spell" tag like Torment).

There are two types of poison damage in Last Epoch "poison typed damage" inflicted by hits or a DoT skill, which scales off your flat throwing damage, and all regular modifiers. This would be you doing poison damage by throwing flasks at enemies. Then there is the poison ailment, inflicted on hit which does NOT scale off your flat throwing damage. This only scales off of ailment values and not the modifiers which only apply to attack or spell itself. IE: The poison debuff that appears after you hit enemies with your Acid Flask.

it works as added fire damage but does not get scaled by increases to cold damage from shatter strike skill tree(or any other increases to cold damage)

If it just says "Increases Critical strike by x%" than yes. If it says melee crit or spell crit than obviously those are only for melee and spell separately.

I struggle with minion damage conversion, such as fizz to cold for minions. I know I can use shared cold affixes and idols. It seems like there should be more and I just can't find if I'm missing anything.
