In 1968 I took this same trip and MORE on a Triumph TC-500 Motorcycle. From the old abandoned temples of the Mayas in the jungles of Yucatan to the Olympic Games in Mexico City to the Mexican Grand Prix, to Playboy type clubs in the mountains of Nicaragua, to Rebel Military camps in the jungles of Guatemala, over barely passable dirt roads and mountain passes in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Costra Rica down the the Locks in the Panama Canal. And, I lived to tell the stories!

I had an 95 4Runner, and now have an 06, That 95 had the smoothest ride you could ask for. Loved that vehicle. This guy is talented. The combination of different woods and his skills are really nice. He must be great at his job. I'd love to have a talent like that.

Nah just bigger leaf springs, upgraded shocks, no air con so it doesnt starin the engine. New belts, cap/distributor, spark plugs, battery, alternator, fuel pump, starter, easy shit.

Hows the trip going? I'm building a 88 4runner overlander did a SAS swap from a 81' donor hilux. 22rLp ARB lockers on board air, winch f/r, maxxis trepador. Original 102k miles. I need that box set up. But I have a shock mounts 8" through the rear. If you give me a email address I'll email pictures.

It had around 260k when I left for the trip I believe. I sold it because I want to build out a van. I wish I would of had more room like a van does since it had rained a decent amount. But yeah was rad having a truck capable of going amywhere!

A bit of chain welded to the chassis and then a lock through the hole in the shaft of the lift and onto the chain.

It is astro turf, like on soccer fields or yards. You can search your local craigslist or classifieds ads for turf reminants there are a lot of companies selling them now!
